Official YZF Makeover Thread

of course this is superimposed and not where your putting it or the actual sizing but you get the idea...If you like it the way it is I will cut it...If not what do you want changed, italicized, not italicized let me know

the text only is the real sizing

That is PERFECT "D"! I love it. PM me with the cost and shipping and I'll send you back my shipping address. That looks awesome! Nice work!

License Plate Bracket Done!!!

Today was the day! Mr. Carroll brought by the custom plate bracket I designed for the YZF and all I can say is that IT'S AWESOME!!! I made a cardboard template for him with all the bends, precise measurements, and plotted all the holes and spacing. I also gave him a sheet of beautful 1/16" Stainless Steel from which to make it from. I have to say that it is an exact duplicate of the template, down to the rounded edges! Great work Mr. Carroll did on this piece! The license plate fits perfectly on it, and the holes I had punched allows me to mount the holder and reach the screw heads easily. It is a far cry from the piece of angle iron the last owner had there! Here are the shots:

It took two weeks but it was worth the wait! I'll mount it to the bike once it's back from Ivan's shop.

Billy, thats sweet i love any thing custom made! Looking forward to seeing it on the bike. If you dont mind telling, how much do you have into it? What are you going to use for lights?

The plate holder didn't cost me a dime. The gentleman that made it for me is my regular customer at work and I always take care of him when he comes in for material. I gave him a few dollars for his guys that work with him there, but he wouldn't accept a dime from me.

As for the bike, I spent exactly $3015.00 dollars, and thats with the price of the bike included. I don't consider that bad at all. Your talking tires, chain, sprockets, hugger, exhaust, brake lines, calipers, signals, filters, fluids, fork parts, gaskets, etc. Along with Tony's help, I really shopped around and did my homework first before ordering parts. That saved me a ton of money. The hours I spent on it I still have to finalize but it's been many. They were worthwhile hours though cause I'm super happy with how it came out in the end. Would I do this again??? yeah, probably. Would I want a bigger garage?, definitely!

I know what you mean about the garage I did every thing to my bike in a 8'by8' shed.

It does suck working in "small quarters". Having some space to move around would make the experience so much nicer. Like, watching some TV while you work, and being able to grab a cold drink while your wrenching. Or even being able to use the bathroom without having to lock everything up and going upstairs. Look out if I ever hit the lottery!!! :evillaugh:
