Picked up a 2006 FZ1 with great mods and low mileage a couple of weeks ago. I was happy with my 2006 FZ6 but after 35,000 trouble free miles I was ready for a change.

All I can say is wow!! What a different level of machine the FZ1 is in all aspects of riding. Just so much better. The FZ1 is so good my trusty 2006 FZ6 may be headed to the for sale section. Here are some pics of the bike. I just got my full Yoshi headers in today as well. They are sweet!! I'll mount them up tomorrow. But Damm the FZ1 is amazing!!

I have to say these Rimoza grips are not for me. These will be the first to go. They look cool but are not for me. I like good comfortable grips. I'll keep the Rimoza bar ends but these bolt on Rizoma grips I don't like. Replacing with Pro Grips and grip heaters. Will keep the Rizoma bar ends.

Nice bike mate. Coming form a FZ6 there is a pretty big power difference and you just went out and bought headers to make more power?

I would suggest that you take some time to get used to the bike's power first before modding too much.

If you have already ridden 1000cc bikes before this, then please disregard.

Awesome ride! The previous owner had some expensive tastes.

If you want to trade the rearsets for stockers, PM me! I'll overnight if you do the same!

Yeah great change! I remember like was yesterday my first fz1 date.. I was by my yamaha dealer for ordinary control of my fz6..estimated waiting time 2 hours..so I asked to do an fz1 test and was love..so big so strong without the up and down from suspensions that ever fz6 did when I opened gas..immediately on hiway..6th gear to go,everything was perfect like a swiss watch than turn and came back:from static position,a look to control that cars doesn't coming..ok lets go! First second third, just over 170km/h and I really never know how stay on bike! From that day fz6 was not the same..not enough!

The bike pretty much has all the mods without tearing into the motor. So got the headers to finish it off. And they look nice. Done deal.

As far as power yeah it's a missle but I've ridden for 20 years and many thousands of miles both dirt and street. Still ride dirt on my Husky 09 TE510 love that bike.

I really feel dirt bike riding/racing has given me more respect for street bikes then one can imagine. Crashing sucks and I know that for sure. So I treat the power of not only the FZ1 but any bike with the utmost respect. They are not toys and will take your ass down in the blink of the eye. I wear all my gear every ride respect the bike I am on and have fun.

Thanks for looking out.
