How To: Roth Velocity Stacks Installation

First of all they are beeeauuuutiful!

Stock: They are 65mm tall.

  1. Remove the inner fairings, tank cover, and lift the tank

  2. Remove the airbox cover lid. Don't forget the center screw.

  3. Remove the stock stacks and take out the screws from them.

  4. First loosen the Roth stacks from their bases enough so that the base sits flush and tight in the airbox.

  5. Screw in down the screws but don't tighten them completely.

  6. Screw in the stacks so that they seal the inlet flush. This can be felt by your finger.

  7. Now tighten the base plates completely.

  8. Now tighten the stacks completely. You may need to 2-3 tries between this and previous step to get an airtight seal between the base plate and airbox bottom and the stacks and the inlet sides.

The blue you see there Lee? Those are the marks from the factory that show the bolt was tightened to spec. They mark each one so they know not to revisit it. :tup:


That is cool.
I'm going to steal your knowledge and act like I know what I'm talking about when I'm pulling apart my FZ1.
