Now you guys made go look at my notes...almost 800 fuel trips and 72 service records

And now that I looked on the Fuelly site, a large % of the records reported are from me :D
 
The miles I've put on bikes:

1972 Triumph Trident. 1000 miles couldn't keep it operational long enough to ride

1974 Kawasaki Z1 45K miles including two trips across the USA (Still own)

1982 GS1100ez 106K miles only one trip cross country. (Still own)

2001 FZ1 285K miles replaced motor at 150K (Still own)

2001 FZ1 55K miles Current daily driver (Still own)

Whoa, crazy man. Glad your Ok. Didnt seem like it blew out till you looked at it. Something I have always been curious about. Did you pick up a nail or did the tire just fail? And, can I ask why you gopro your commutes? No judgement, just curious.

I feel like the tire just failed and exploded from the inside and because of this being the second Shinko Raven to fail early I have changed over to to Michelin tires. I did not hit anything that I saw or felt - does not mean I did not hit something..... I just did not see or feel anything until the tire delaminated.

I run the GoPro on my commute for a few reasons:
  • I have caught some interesting things over the years and posted them to my YouTube Channel
    • lady using a laptop at 65mph... both hands on the keyboard, laptop on her lap and steering wheel.....
    • Road Rage incident on the 78 where a car purposely hit another one and flipped over (The viral video was a driver with a cell phone, but I caught part of it at the same time riding by)
  • "Just in case" someone does something bad to me.
    • This happened once to me before I had a GoPro and it was a he said/ she said deal with the insurance so we we both considered at fault. Now I will always have video evidence to add to any situation.
  • To show just how safe Lane Sharing can be (been doing it since 2011 without incident)

I just moved from Seal Beach this past summer. Lived there for 2 yrs. And lived in the bay area for 3 yrs before that. In Louisiana now. Love it down here, but I do miss lane splitting.
