Got that itch again...

Norm, it's your money to do as you wish. I'm just not sure you'd be as excited about it afterward and down the road. ;) I'm hoping that you don't suffer the same regrets as when the old Prof. Fizz departed. :eek5: :D

The 650 looks like a lot of fun! The price is sure cheap enough! I cannot believe it lasted even a day!?!?

Norm I brained stormed every bike I could think of. What will tour be sporty and appeal to the fairer sex. What I came up with is, you need to wait just a little longer and jump on a Motus when they release it.

Yea, the Motus should be a very American sport touring bike if/when it comes to market. Hey it's got a V4 with push rods so it's half a small-block Chevy :D

Good point. My friend recently saw a prototype in the flesh and said it looked darn good.

Eric, I called my friend Dan and he said I'm not the biggest tour guy in the world, meaning I don't get on a bike and travel for days at a time, so the Gold Wing isn't really my speed. I also rarely travel with a pillion, where the Gold Wing really excels. I'll cool my heels till Eric gets here and like Tony said, I'll check out that Ninja if it's still available.

Well I just called the guy from that add and the bike sold! I'm not surprised I guess.

Norm, look into the Versys instead of the 650R. It's a very cool bike and has better suspenders than the 650R. More fun to ride and more versatile, hence the name! It's like a big supermoto and is a lot of fun. I would have one already if I didn't stumble upon my current SV for very cheap.

If you wanted a middleweight street bike, what about something like a Honda 599 or an SV?

What about a Ducati Monster? You can get Monster 696s for not much anymore.

:)

We think alike my man. In thinking this through. Unless I'm going to have a dedicated passenger (any women out there willing to meet a guy whose life has gone to hell in a hand basket in a year, lol) or travel cross country on it (I know I have the responsibility now of a puppy so that's not likely) this big bruiser of a bike probably doesn't make sense. A third bike so as to have two friends at a time visit would be the bomb. I test rode a Versys and enjoyed it very much. Thanks Dustin.

Seriously it is the bike that ducati modeled the monster over and then dominated the market with 5 years later. A well handling naked V twin started with the Hawk. Not to mention their value will only go up from the current prices. You can get one now and sell it for more later.

Well you're probably right about the price. Just look at the prices of the RZ350s and RZ500s :jaw drop::eek:

It wasn't a opinion Duc actually modeled the premise of the monster after the Hawk. Think about it 1988 a bike with a solid frame single sided swing arm and v twin torque. in a light nimble handling package.

Here you go norm for 2500 or less you can have a bike that boogies and is different from the two you currently own.
