FZ1N naked conversion for Gen 1 bikes

Does anyone know if the eBay FZ1N naked conversion kit can be adapted to Gen 1 FZ1s? I have a 2003 and can do basic metal fabrication, etc. I've built a couple of WERA race bikes and am a decent wrench. Thanks

Search in the uk under fzs and fazer for aftermarket offerings. Im not really a fan but have seen some clean installs with a similar looking headlight as the 2nd gen has.

All im saying is i prefer a first gen just like they came. But the UK offers a 'naked' headlight for a first gen that looks very similar to a second gen. Id run one if i wrecked and couldn't afford to fix the bike right.

What owners that crash find…... is that you usually take out the cowl fairing, headlight, turn signals, and fairing stay.

Like Bunk, I prefer the OEM look and took my time finding near perfect replacements on the Bay. I bought the fairing new from Partshark for less than $200. Looks like black and blue cowls are still available. If you need a different color go to that year on part shark. Make sure you save the little mirror brackets on the top of the stay. Those are hard to find.

Headlights can sometimes be repaired, stays can be bent back into shape, but you’re usually into it for $500 easily.

Having the luxury of two Gen 1s to ride I have more time than some to fix my stupidity while continuing to ride. Of course the OP could have been hit by someone else or bought it that way..

I appreciate the comments. No crash, it's just that when it comes to plastic, less-is more for me. Probably due to the many 70s and 80s bikes I've had over the years. I don't think the eBay naked conversion is for me, even if it can be modified for Gen 1. I am "Street Tracker Curious"and may head in that direction. Pondering a wider handlebar with higher rise for more leverage and a tad more upright ride. Then perhaps do the headlight and seat/tail. Always with the ability to put it back to stock later (a hard lesson I learned long ago).

Same here, was just suggesting the fitment procedure from days gone by.

I got mine as an awful streetfighter conversion with cow horn handlebars. The clocks were still fixed to the frame, so the light was too low and the silly fairing thing kept clouting the clocks



So I put flat bars on and retro-modded it with an '80s FZ750 race fairing

Got any more photos of your Gen 1 when it was still streetfighter styled? Yours looks pretty similar to two others I want to imitate, and just wanting to get more inspo. Your retromod looks dope btw, just way beyond my apartment-maintenance hobbyist abilities lol. Hoping to do something like these:

Love Yamaha's XJR series but they never came to the states, so my goals to model my FZ1 as close as I can.
