Been riding for about 4.5 years (3 in NZ 1.5 in Sydney). I commute on my bike everyday and go out on weekend rides often yet I never got pulled over.

I'm interested to hear about how peeps here got pulled over and why? what did you do? or what did they do?? I live in Sydney so I'd natually be interested to hear from Sydneysiders. ;)

Hmm..... I got pulled over for speeding on the Blue Ridge Parkway... 75 in a 45.. federal ticket....

Got pulled over in a 35mph zone in Mountain City, TN... cop told me I was doing 84 when I put the front wheel back down.... Cop messed up the ticket... it got thrown out after I paid the fine.. so not on my record.

Got pulled over at Deal's Gap for dragging knee with a buddy on wet roads..."Too fast for road conditions".... cop didn't really have anything to write... so he told us "I don't want to see you for the rest of the weekend." .. Which was cool, cause Deal's sucks anyhow. (MUCH better roads not too far away)

Pulled over on Route 250 on the way to Richmond VA for sitting on the tank... cop didn't have anything to write on that one.... gave me a "warning"

That's just bike stuff... cars... whoa. 3 Reckless driving because of speeding tickets (1 over 100mph) ... multiple 10-15mph over tickets... one wreck... flipped the car... cop wrote me for "Failure to maintain proper control of vehicle"... got fined $600 and contempt of court when I told the judge "When the car was upside down, I kept turning the wheel and it didn't do $hit"...

That said, my last ticket was over 6 years ago. I guess I'm calming down in my old age. ... Then again... I did just buy this 300C SRT8... and I need rear tires already...

On the bike, three times, all for minimal speeding. Two small tickets, one warning.

Boring, I know :rofl: I'm just glad I have never been caught excessive speeding, that's a loss of license and bike impounded here in BC.

Last 30 miles of a 500-mile day in the twisties. Not even paying attention to the speedo when a buddy and I crested a hill and there was a West Virginia trooper in the median. "Shit" came over the intercom as we eased off the gas while the trooper pulled out behind us.
Me: "You want to pull over or want me to get this?"
Steve: "I was in the lead. I'll take it."
Me: "Okay. Catch up with me at the next exit."

About 15-20 minutes later, the intercom crackles to life...

Steve: "Well, we were doing ** in a 65..." [I think it was about 80, but can't remember]
Me: "Hmm. Ok. How bad was it? What do I owe you?"
Steve: "He gave me a written warning. Oh, and this is for you: 'and tell your buddy to slow down too.'"

I guess that counts as a verbal warning, right?

Earlier in the same trip, we were riding through the shore-way in Cleveland at about 85 (in a 55) when we went by a local on the side of the freeway with his radar gun out. I don't know if he actually clocked us, but he just gave the "slow down" signal (we did, for a while) and let us keep going.

1 speeding ticket in the car and 3 on the bike. The car one I just did traffic school. The three bikes ones are: 1 a warning, 2 the cop never entered it in the system and 3 I fought by letter and won.

I came off a 1992 Kawasaki Concurs to my 2007 FZ1. On my first ride to work, I left my my neighborhood and was pulled over about 3/4 of a mile going 63 in a 35. The FZ1 is much quicker than the Connie.

I got pulled over for speeding by a California Highway Patrol last year. He wrote me up for 80+. I got it dismissed, because 80+ is not a speed. On top of that, when I pulled over into the emergency lane, the crazy cop nearly hit me.

My last ticket on a bike was a few years ago, early march (sunny 70 degrees)... I got ticketed for not having winter tires on!:flip:
Between Dec 15th and March 15th, winter tires are mandatory for all passenger vehicles registered in Quebec.

Winter Tires

From December 15 to March 15, all taxis and passenger vehicles registered in Québec must be equipped with winter tires. This requirement also applies to rental passenger vehicles in Québec, as well as mopeds, motorized scooters and motorcycles.
The Regulation Governing the Use of Tires Specifically Designed for Winter Driving provides for certain exemptions for:
the first 7 days following the acquisition of a passenger vehicle from a dealer;
the 7 days preceding the expiration date of a long-term lease (one year duration or more);
passenger vehicles with temporary licence plates (X plate);
passenger vehicles with a temporary registration certificate (transit) not exceeding a period of 7 days from the date of issue of this certificate;
motor homes, or vehicles that have been permanently outfitted as dwellings;
the spare wheel of a passenger vehicle or taxi;
motorcycles used as emergency vehicles (emergency vehicle as defined under the Highway Safety Code);
vehicles for which a winter tire exemption certificate was issued by the SAAQ.

Just once on the fz1-
About 2 weeks ago I got pulled over doing 78km/hr in a 60 zone, told the cop that I was nearly hit by a guy in a shitty old ford swerving all over the road, so I tried to put some distance between us. He told me to be careful and be on my way. Could've been a $350 fine if he was an ass about it.

Got a bunch as a kid on my Honda 50 - pretty much you name it, I got caught doing it, lost my AFB drivers mc license twice..... Haven't had one as an adult until 6 months ago - 80 in a 55 - and I was lucky, I had slowed way down when he tagged me with radar, I'd seen 137 before I got out of it. I was lucky - was one of the local constables and thank goodness it was not Houston Police Dept, I'd have prob gone to jail and had to get the bike back from impound. They tend to get really upset over traffic violations....

It wasn't that bad, they even let me pay it online, figured I was headed to a lecture in court for 35mph over. I'm installing an Escort detector....

Way back in 1981. I was on my first bike, the Yamaha 550 Seca and I was on my first long trip. Going through Yellowstone Park in mid September. When I finally sat up from my crouch I saw the lights in my mirror.
"How fast were you going?" he says. "55" I replied. "Ahh, NO. I was following you since the junction back there" he tells me.
It was quite a while since I saw a junction. He let me off with a warning.:woot:

Twice, on a motorbike. Once in college 5 min before a final, 90+ in 35. I wasn't going to stop but I was downtown and I didn't want to risk killing myself or anyone else. Karma paid off, about to be handcuffed he got some call on the radio. Got off with a slap on the wrist and a stern threat. Also had almost shit myself, thinking I was gonna be arrested.

Second time riding on the university bike trails leaving a dorm at 2 ish am. Cop was cool and let me go.
