Crash'in the Hawk Video

I'm fine and the Hawk crashed well. The header and the rearset kept the bike from touching the ground. That was 3 laps in and the front just went, no warning at all.Very minor damage. I was out on the ZX6 the next session.

looked like a "clean crash" and not such a dirty one as I suffered. Glad you were able to get back on the other bike to shake off that "crash feeling"...I'm still kinda stuck with mine...

It took me a couple of sessions. My first 2 sessions out I was able to keep group pace but felt like I was forcing it. It was not loose or comfortable at all. I asked if I could do a session or two with the beginner group, just to ride and shake off the jitters. I was afraid for my life they were everywhere, no one was on line, moving back and forth. I couldnt find a moment of piece. Joined my regular group for the next session and felt relaxed and safe again, go figure.

that is so true....when I escort the beginners group one of the most remarks is that people need to stay on their line and not start changing when they hear (or see) another bike arriving. Still too many novices do not blind off or remove their mirrors...

What tires were you running? Can't imagine any decent tire being "cold" by the third lap. :dontknow:

The reason for the crash is pilot error. Bridgestone BT16 110/70/17. A lot of factors came into play. Its almost half a lap from the previous left, Temps in the high 40's low 50's and I'm use to the caricteristics of Dunlop Q2's on the track. My mind processed all that info wrong and thought my pace was safe.

CB on a morning like this warmers dont do you a whole lot of good. a cold track will suck the heat out of a tire.

looked like a graceful crash.... glad you got back out there...

Was at Summit Main Monday (just visiting, not riding), but there were several downs due to cold (think it peaked at like 50 that day), and rain later on... the tire warmers were out in force though. Thankfully, nothing bad to any of the riders.
