Hey there, I just installed a new slip on and have to address the lack of a center stand stop. 3 choices I guess;

1. remove center stand (hate to lose the center stand)

2. remove midpipe and have someone weld a stop on it (costly and time consuming)

3. modify the rubber stop with a material that can take the heat (does nasa do yard sales?)

Any suggestions?

Which slip-on did you buy? I know the Two Bros has a bracket with a hole on the mid-pipe to relocate the stopper to. A few of the others also have these as well.

Here is what i did, which don't need it with my two brothers exhaust now. Would recommend a little stiffer metal and a solid rubber stopper instead of the stock one, or a flat piece welded onto the center stand to hit the stopper. Could also go a little longer with it so there isn't as much pressure on it.

I don't miss the center stand at all. Glad to loose the weight. That being said my Yosh came with an adapter/spot to place the original bumper.

If I remove the center stand then what is the best method for lifting the back end for maintenance. I don't believe swingarm spools are an option for the gen 1.

I have a little bit of the same problem, on my 01 with the danmoto pipe, the stand is now resting against the mid pipe, witch hasn't been a problem just every time i hit a bump the stand clangs against the pipe, kind of anoying!
So i'm trying to tink of a materal to put between the pipe and the stand to stop the noise and not melt from the heat. Like rubber but won't melt, what would that be.....

Do you mean your center stand no longer has the rubber nub on it?

The guy at the local muffler shop told me to pick up some asbestos wrap at the local specialty/performance shop and bond a piece or two to the rubber nub on the center stand. gonna give it a shot. if it doesn't work out then the center stand is coming off.
