can anyone tell me what this noise is?

The noise is only with a cold engine. It goes away above 120 coolant temp. It oddly starts a second or two after the engine starts. Im ASSuming its the stator but im not sure.

These type of noises could be A LOT of things. Stator is up near the top of the list and if it's the original stator...........get it out of there. I am having to rebuild a 2006 right now because the stator exploded and ended up in pieces all inside the engine.

Would you explain in a bit more how a non rotating block of steel plates wrapped in enameled copper wire exploded? I'm confused.
