On my last ride, I had a County Sherriff in a jeep cutting corners out in the hills.

That kind of thing scares the crap out of me, also red light runners... sheesh.

Certainly not the best roadcraft on the van driver's part, but that scenario should ALWAYS be in the mind in entering a situation like that. Many (most?) drivers will cut short a turn like that if no one is occupying that space, especially if it is a tight turn.

This corner is on my daily commute to work. I have tried to get the city to do something to make it better but, they do not seam to care. I have considered gluing a cone where the double-yellow meets the crosswalk just to get the attention of drivers and the city. I just wish the city would do something to make it safer.
