Buying a 2003 fz1 with 76000km....?

Hello,

So I am new to riding and I am currently looking at a 2003 fz1. It has 76000 kms on it with all the service up to date. Should I be concerned? What should I be looking for when inspecting it? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there, welcome to the forum!

The FZ1 is a very well made & robust bike and there's typically not a lot that goes wrong with it.

Given the age of it, you'll want to thoroughly go over all consumables and rubber parts. Pay extra attention to carb boots, fuel lines, brake lines and the various seals and gaskets around the machine. The condition will greatly depend on how the bike was cared for and where it was stored.

I have 83,000 miles on mine and the Valves just now started to go out of spec, the motors are very robust.
