Hey guys,
Today was my first real day I've spent some real saddle time on the bike. I was on the bike for over 4 hours (around 200 miles).
Here's a few things I've noticed:
1) Engine dieing in 1st gear off throttle. A few times when I've started my bike and taken off in first gear, lets say in a parking lot, I never leave first gear. I will come off the throttle and pull in the clutch and the bike will die. It doesn't do this all the time but there is definitely a stumble when I suddenly shut off the throttle. I've learned to slowly roll off the throttle to get the RPMs down a little before pulling in the clutch. That seems to help with bike dieing.
2) Fairing vibration. There is some really bad buzzing going on with the plastic. Driving me crazy at certain RPM's. Will look into that.
3) Vibration in bars. My hands were tingling quiet a lot when I got home from being on the interstate coming home (was really late and had serious wife aggro).
4) To my surprise this bike is more comfortable then my 2001 Bandit 1200. Could use a better seat but it will do for now.
5) Loving the POWER! Holy $hit this thing has some really decent power!! What would be someone's best guess of rear wheel HP for an 08' with FULL R77 Yoshi system? I can't imagine a Power Commander III would add anything but if it does add that too.
Overall I am in love with this bike. It is has exceeded all my expectations!!! I can't wait to go riding tomorrow even if it's just for an hour or so.
A little extra note: My wife is a little pissed at me because she wasn't expecting me to have gotten a loan and have found a bike so soon after talking to her about it. I didn't ask for permission to get it. Also, I didn't tell her I had actually purchased it when I did. She walked in the garage and saw it. She accusing me of getting the bike before I talked to her about it. I have too much respect to do something like that before talking to her. I just had my master plan laid already. haha
I guess the old saying applies here. "Better to ask for forgiveness than permission." HA!
Thanks,
Halflin (Kevin)
