I have noticed on a few sites, they say on the Purolator site to think twice about using purolator pure one filters on bikes [could have to high a pressure for the oil pump],I have been using these filters now for several years on a honda hornet 919 and with no problems I have only just purchased my 2008 FZ1 and still having 5 of these filters was going to use them on this bike.As the FZ1 revs higher than the hornet, I am having second thoughts, has anybody had an issue? using these filters on a FZ1.
Out of this list (not my creation) I use Purolator Pure One PL14612 and clear out the Walmart shelf once a year.
...
So I take it you are not concerned about the warning from purolator to think twice before using their pure one filters in bikes
Va rider is correct. The K&N is very good. 17mm nut on end is nice.
I use the purolator filter. I like the extra length which means more filtering of oil.
I would not use a Fram after reading another thread (which I can't find). They did a whole thing of cutting them apart and looking at them. Fram had least amount of filter material.
I think with just about any of them if you change the oil and filter in the recommended frequency or even a little under that it will be fine.
Said no one about exhaustWhy over-complicate the issue?
Just get the stock Yamaha oil filter and be done with it.
