crawled under her this morning, saw the rear shock bracket and spritzed the pivot bushings with some WD40. that seems to have done the trick. I'll take her out later today and listen for any more creaks, pop, etc
I havent done anything yet, kinda scared to pull the swing-arm rod for fear that it will drop out of place and I'll have to muscle it back.. just not motivated to do a full rear end tear down, still 100f+ in the garage

I'm hearing an odd popping creaking from the rear wheel swingarm. Is there a bearing or rod that needs grease or oil in there?
LOL, dammit, just 'googled' it and answered my own question...:banghead::banghead:

was bored today, said to my wife 'hey, gonna go for a ride", she says "I'm going too!" We put in 120 miles RT, to Globe AZ and back. Got a huge bug-splat on my visor in Superior AZ and so I pulled into Picket Post trail-head and cleaned it off, this is where we got the shots.

The temps dropped this week and I had a gap between meetings at work so I decided a lunchtime ride out on Apache Trail was in order. It's got some nice twisties, but is heavily travelled and pretty rough in spots. Got stuck behind some snowbirds from...

dropped it at the shop today for an $80 re-thread, cheaper than all of the parts on-line and less hassle - be back riding tomorrow! Gotta enjoy the 95deg fall weather down here!

Last week I decided a nice long stress therapy ride was in order. was on the road for 6 hours, 260 miles RT. Started in SE Phoenix at ~105F and went Southeast thru Tucson to Mt Lemmon which lies at ~8500 feet elevation. The 25 mile road up the mountain was amazing, cool, light traffic.
Did family vacation in San Diego sans FZ1 and had a few fun expereiences:
1) a motorcycle cop passed us and I spotted an interesting Mod on his rear bags (see pic)
2) on the way back from the beach a BRAND NEW naked FZ09 lane-split past us in traffic. We passed each other a few times, I...
