On the road again.
Hi all - many thanks for the kind words and encouragement. Finally back on the road!! The FZ1N rides perfect - a top repair by Dean at Dynoverks in Boronia. The damage was expensive $ but cosmetic. Amazing how a plastic and alloy motorcycle can "destroy" a large car and...
Hi all......many thanks for the kind words. Unexpected to see my email to Fangn in print but very thankful. Yes, I was very damaged and surprised I survived. I have been allowed home for the weekend for the second time in almost four months and I'm due for "parole" this Tuesday. All is mending...
Thanks Billy! I'm on "parole" for the weekend and found info about me in the forum. Glad Fangn posted my letter and quite surprised at the response. Almost four months in hospital has almost ended - still ache at times but overall amazed at my recovery. Cheers.
I agree - change the coolant but check for leaks first. I use distilled water with the coolant 50%. Check the older threads on an apparent weak drain plug as they can break. Cheers.
Rabbitman - Crash Video - how the hell did that happen?????? Ouch!! You could take that bend at huge speed on the FZ. What type of bike was that - looked like a Harley. Cheers.
I recently wore out the stock Dunlops and after many opinions settled for Michelin Pilot Road 2's. Tried and proven, long wear and good price. Transformed the bike and my confidence level - miles ahead of the stock tyre. Lot's of good rubber out there - your choice. Cheers.
Know what you mean!! I've "done time" working in the mining industry east of Broken Hill at Cobar, NSW - like hell on earth!! But the money was good!
I hear of extreme storms, heat and fire in the US at the moment. Stay cool!! Cheers.
My 09 N model got it's usual thorough clean after my last 325km day ride. My new race stand really helped with polishing the rim and chain care. Still looks in showroom condition. Great pics from ethandf06 - very, very nice S to N conversion!! Cheers.
Blanchy, my 09 N model's warranty ended last month. I do most of my own service work but I was quoted $100 to sync. the injection system and $60 to change the brake fluid. I spend $90 alone for an oil change with Motul 5100 and oil filter - my labour. So, I reckon $300 would be about right. Cost...
I also have a 09 FZ1N. Perfect - never a problem at 11,000km. Very puzzled by your starting problem and can't help but think it is something simple." I pressed the button several times before it suddenly decided to leap into life." Is the starter button making a poor contact or any of the other...
Most useful - cleaned the chain and lubed. A centre stand off an S model cost too much and not available 2nd. hand. The race stand with cotton reels only cost $120 AUD. Cheers.
Lindy, I suppose there are people out there as you describe. One would have to have shit for brains to think that way. But.....at the moment I'll still run 98 octane until I do more local research into what the best fuel for my FZ is. Meaning, I will speak to mechanics and people involved in...
Super Googan, I quoted what was written and I know how my bike runs on our 98 octane. I use it because I believe I'm maximizing combustion and keeping my engine clean. Ok. Did a run today of 325 Km's (200 miles) on my usual fuel and as usual ran perfect to redline. However.....I have read your...
