Hit 50,000 miles on my '01 today, which means I put a little over 5,000 on it. I don't know where these things usually start to go, but mine still runs strong. Guess the previous owners knew how to take care of it.
boom. I'm very happy with how it came out. Phenoix top, no slip grey, and ostrich sides. Thank you for posting that website.

It's going to be held at Chuckwalla valley raceway and I'll be there on April 27, 2012. Anyone going to this? I'll probably be the only guy on an FZ1 and hoping I take a lot from this. It'll be my first time at an actual track so I'm extremely excited. Anybody attend a school similar to this...
I've owned my 15" MacBook Pro since July '08. Since then it has followed me to Iraq and Afghanistan and the only things I've done to it were replace the back right fan because of all the sand corrosion and upgraded to a 750gb hard drive. Other than that it has been able to handle everything I...
Installed my r6 shock yesterday. It took all of about 3 hours including the parts run for washers and a bigger drill bit. It was like night and day. My stock shock has about 50k miles on it so it was definitely time for an upgrade.

Amsoil?
I've read on other forums where people praise Amsoil. I've used it for the last 2 oil changes. Problem is, you can only get it from a supplier. Amsoil is the AVON of motor oils haha. It's all I've used since I got my bike and can't say anything bad about it. It seems to help keep my...
Dog Bones
Sorry guys, I'm having trouble with finding some dog bones and was wondering if you could send me in the right direction. I ordered one of the shocks from ebay and now i can't seem to find anywhere that will sell dog bones.
I'm about 200 pounds and 6' 4". Just making sure that I...
Of course motorcycles are more dangerous. Cars don't turn sideways when they hit some sand on an onramp. I sit through safety briefs every year and some statistics they present are that 50% of all motorcycle deaths are alcohol related. Before helmet laws were as enforced as they are now, people...
I've recently bought and installed these new brake rotors for the front and rear of my '01 FZ1 and am happy to say they work better than expected! My rear stock brake rotor was warped so bad! It would pulsate while stopping. The front seemed fine, but with 47k on them I figured they would go...
Sorry I didn't take any photos. I found a website that had extremely useful information if you dabble with electronics and know even the slightest bit about multimeters.
Here's the link:

Yeah, they try and open up one of the air fields every few months to give us a chance to practice skills and the ability to learn your own bikes behavior in a safer environment. Passing the word is hard. So I try and let everywhere I stick around know. I don't know if they let civilians go but...

Ended up having to tap 3 of the holes on the flywheel and used a puller.
Long story short the mechanic said it was the toughest he'd ever seen. They had to torch it for a while just to get it to come off and it was still hot when I got home about 45 min later.
Finally was able to replace...
