    Cant start bike, Please help!

Parts for FZ1 I have many parts off my '07 that you might need. I crashed it into a deer. Parts sitting in a pile. Stock airbox complete, fuel pump, harnesses, most of the stuff under the seat and fuel tank are not damaged.

FZ1 photo, replacement for the "deer slayer"

After absolutely destroying my other '07 FZ1 whacking a 4 point buck, I went out and found a replacement bike about 6 weeks after the crash. After much healing of broken body parts, I was able to swap over all the usable parts to the new bike(used '07). I still have a Melotti fender eliminator...

Hey Crazy Biker, I don't get the "and you continued driving?" Do you mean not driving anymore due to the trauma of hitting so many bunnies? If you mean I should have parked the battle wagon and walked 10 ,miles to the airport, that wouldn't have worked out too well. I had to move out into the...

Several years ago I made a coast to coast cross country trip in my plane. On the way back, headed west I made an overnight stop in Pampa Texas, located in the northern panhandle. They had a loaner car, a 1973 Ford T-Bird, old enough to have real bumpers, you know, the steel variety. The drive to...

Drop bear! I didn't think to google it. Ha, that's funny. I'm planning to tour Australia later this year and will be looking up in the trees to make sure I'm not a victim of one of those things.

Ugly crash, bike and gear destroyed

Bag Hey, thanks for the bag offer. I'm really holding out for another monster tail bag. It expands upward and will hold a regulation size paper grocery bag.

Good to know there is a law. I didn't even consider the issue of the excessive deer population attracting mountain lions. They make an occasional showing here and end up getting shot. Let the process of NATURAL selection remain natural.

Here in northern California the deer are like free range cattle. So many folks feed them because they are "cute" and they like to see them around. However the downside to that is the population is at a level nature never intended. Some good friends of mine HEAVILY feed the deer and I just cringe...

Moose?? I've seen them while on a fly in trip in northen Idaho. One particular moose would cross the grass runway to a watering hole in the morning and in the evening. I had my 7 year old son with me to do some camping. We wanted to see the moose but for the 3 days we were there it was nowhere...

    My own Take

My bike. My ideas. My hobby. Not interested in resale. Mods make my gen II run great without hesitation, stalling etc, other mods for looks. Part of the fun of riding these machines is working on them. Back in the "old days" we had to work on carbs, balance carbs, adjust carbs, replace points...

Ugly crash, bike and gear destroyed

Hey, thanks silver dream. I just checked back with ebay and the "cargo endurance monster tail bag" has been dropped. Most likely they have sold out and are not being made anymore. I'll have to look for some other kind of replacement bag if someone on this forum doesn't come through with a used...

Not trying to frighten my fellow riders but I'm an analytical person and just can't help but pass along what I've learned. This information can save lives. As a pilot I regularly read NTSB reports and try to analyze the scenario that led up to a crash or incident. This information only adds to...

Cargo endurance monster tail bag needed

As I explained in the "general discussion" column I destroyed my bike and all my gear by hitting a deer at night going 60 mph. I've replaced all my gear and my bike however my tail bag was shredded. I originally purchased the bag from Cycle Gear but they no longer carry it. I've looked at other...

I always "gear up" even in the heat of summer, I switch to mesh which is what I was wearing. The ride was only 8 miles home from the airport hangar but I always gear up. The trauma folks said "you are the cleanest motorcyle victim we have ever seen", "normally you would be torn up". They would...

Ugly crash, bike and gear destroyed

The photos don't really do it justice. When put on the center stand both wheels touched the ground as the bike sagged in the middle due to broken frame and broken engine. Engine case broken in two places, sump broken, side cover over generator broken. Rear wheel bent, sprocket and chain bent...

The photo of the huge culvert is where I fell off and slid to the bottom, about 20 feet. Photo of deer is for entertainment purposes only. My apologies to PETA but the bulls eye target is exactly where I hit the animal and he was standing just like that and looking right at me.

Ugly crash, bike and gear destroyed

:doh2:It's a long story but last August I hit a large buck broadside (at night) while going 60 mph which resulted in my being thrown off my FZ1 after it went into a violent shimmy that progressed into a full right bar lock in about .5 seconds. I landed on my back, slid about 50 feet, hit a curb...
