    Fall Colors in Oregon

More fall colors, I guess... We took advantage of a 50 degree day with no rain, and headed for the Oregon Coast. Put 150 miles on the bikes, the last 50 in the dark, but it was well worth it!

Tell her "Thanks" from the home front next time you chat with her. And thanks to your family for the soldier.

Where are the FZ1 Girls ?

We snuck one more ride in last week. Caught some fantastic weather on Friday, along with a 1/2 day of work. We rode out to Sahalie Falls and back (160 mile ride) and really had a great time. Any cars that got in our way were passed with safe yet aggressive throttle application.:)

Want to buy an FZ1, is a 2006 worth it?

Buying new from a dealer is a good bet in December. It wouldn't hurt to see if you can locate an older "still in the box" model. I was killing some time between apointments yesterday and saw that my local dealer had some brand new 09's (of various types) that looked really reasonable. (of...

    Naked & Old School

I like the mods, and especially the ability for you to put it back "as it was" without too much trouble. Very nice looking machine.

Kawasaki Ninja 1000 vs. Suzuki GSX1250FA vs. Yamaha FZ1 Comparison...

I have a buddy who went from her FZ1 (totaled in a hit and run rear ender) to the Ninja 1000. She says there are some of the low/mid range pluses that she's noticed, but didn't like it as well for longer distances. I love the looks of the FZ1, and know that I will NEVER ride it to its...

Where are the FZ1 Girls ?

Snuck a ride in yesterday. Fall colors are on the decline, so these are more Novemberish colors:

    Fall Colors in Oregon

That first road is Siuslaw River Rd. roughly at mile marker 28. Not real crowded at that end. Wolf Creek Rd. is a better paved road, just no places to stop and take pics. SRRd is paved, but a bit goaty in places. Re: The FJR. My parter and I are both relatively new to riding; we started...

    Fall Colors in Oregon

Took my FZ1 out for a scoot in search of some foliage. Up over the first hump of the coast mountains, then in to Lorane valley. Cloudy day, but decent temps and dry. And some from Saturday, where we took the new (to us) 2005 FJR out:

    Definately harassment!!!

Disclaimer #1: I've been a cop for 26 years...not in Texas. Can't speak to the video taping laws there, do the research first. (Oregon's are interesting, fwiw). I can say at that time of day, we "drunk hunt". Avidly. Frequently. And often, bikes are kind of a "gimmie" target because of...

Questions regarding FZ1 current Cruiser rider. (FZ6 riders please chime in)

I currently ride both a V Star 1300 and an FZ1, and have two good friends who ride FZ6's. I suspect that for a commuter ONLY bike, you'd like the FZ6. I believe, however, you'd be happier with the FZ1 for a variety of reasons, especially when the temptation strikes to take a longer trip on the FZ.

Great pictures. That area is on my bucket list of places to ride.

    Quick Visit: Oregon Scenery

Had some friends from California show up last weekend. Joan used to ride an FZ1 until it was totaled when she got rear-ended about a year ago. She and Patty normally go 2 up on a Road Glide, but they broght the truck up for a family visit, then came to stay with us and borrowed my V-Star to...

Ca Hwy 36, 140 miles of twistys

I'm impressed that you took Frank over Mattole Rd. I did that on my cruiser 5 years ago; great scenery, but won't do it again. LOVE Hwy 36. Heading down thataway next weekend to meet up with some gals and ride Lassen National Park...I'm hoping for at least some seat time on Hwy 36!

    Comfortability fz6/fz1

I don't find any discomfort with the FZ1 position wise (and I am a cruiser gal). I also have not lowered the FZ1 even though at 5'7" the seat is a bit tall. I have sat on the FZ6 and ridden an FJR, and noted the different position. I can't say enough about the FZ1, and am planning some...

    Redwoods and Rivers

So, we took off with some friends to the Crescent City, CA area. Two Harleys (a fat boy and a road king), V Star 1100 and me on the FZ1. I felt suspicioulsy like the flamboyantly gay uncle at a wedding...and loved it. It was my first longish trip on the FZ1, and I have to say that it is a...
