    EXUP Eliminator Codes?

I have both the Powercommander III and the Ignition Module where the stock servo used to reside. This leaves more storage space under the passenger seat (where one typically installs the PC and IM) for tools etc.

    R1 fork conv brake question

I am personally running a Penske rear shock (about 5mm longer than stock) with a set of 08 r1 forks without any extension caps etc. Turn in is excellent but the bike is not overly twitchy either. Basically the slightly shorter forks are not really an issue in my experience . . .

How do I know if mods are done?

Especially with an 06, Ivan's FCE makes a huge improvement in throttle snatch. You should put the FCE on the list of reasons to lift the tank. If you don't have one, read up on it here and the other forum and see for yourself if you find issues with the abrupt throttle delivery.

    Slip-On or Full Exhaust?

???? Stock, my 06 had snatchy fueling and weak midrange. After the "full package" (see my signature) treatment it now has proper liter bike power that is delivered in wonderful smoothness. There are very few bikes that respond as well to mods as the GenII. This is another way of saying that...

    Aprilla tuono V4 in person

I have ridden my neighbors TV4. IMHO it looks 100x better than the previous Gen Tuono (factory) that he had. He called that one the clown bike. The new T has incredible power and top notch handling. He has the race ecu activated with an akra slip on. The fueling is surprisingly poor down...

Flies tied, no flies, modded flies, stock flies

Coolaid? How about 20 pages of discussion with data plots being paramount to the actual motorcycle. See: PC5/WB a New way of Tuning - FZ1OA Message Board. No dyno results, no independent evaluation, not even a real personal evaluation of what the actual problem(s) with the bike were / are and...

Flies tied, no flies, modded flies, stock flies

Modded Flies with the FCE (which has the effect of opening them more quickly) helps to improve the sub 7K response. Full exhaust system will dramatically help in this area as well. Still not a low RPM monster but you can gain close to 25hp at 7K over stock with the proper combo of mods. This...

PC V vs Juice Box Pro

I Obviously, the PC has a long history of success with the GenII. Resale would be in favor of the PC. The PC also has the ignition module and auto tune available as accessories. I'm not sure if the "on the fly adjustments" are really any different than the buttons on PC, regardless I'm not...

    One key for all locks?

Yamaha has at least two "keyways" for their FZ products. If the key you want to use for all of the looks will physically fit in the cylinder you want to have changed then you should be fine. However, you may find that the keyways are mirror images of each other and it is then not just a matter...

Getting an FZ1 N Real soon!!!

Riding an unfaired bike at 100mph for any length of time will be majorly uncomfortable. If you are serious about the triple digit riding get the faired version or a fully faired bike. The S and N both have the same handlebars, footpegs, seat and seat position so there will be no difference in...

    FZ1-Ducati MTS comparison

Well the price is certainly in a whole 'nother galaxy. Same is true with the new Tuono. This is certainly a MAJOR factor in any comparisoin . . .I personally don't think I could rationalize the 3x the cost for the gains (probably some losses too) but then again I never buy new.

    FZ1 vs FZ8

You can find a nice condition used Fz1 GII for less than $5k. Can you do that with the 8? For the same $ as FZ8 you can have a seriously modded FZ1 with engine performance, handling, comfort etc all head and shoulders above the 8 (not to mention the stock GII)

    FZ1-Ducati MTS comparison

You still didn't say how much$ . . .New ones are around $20k?? I have about $7500 total into my GenII, purchased for $3400 with about $4k in upgrades (see my signature). It is certainly a different bike than a Multistrada. It would probably compare favorably to one in many respects. . . .

    FZ1-Ducati MTS comparison

You didn't say how much$ :) Is the tank plastic? If so I hope it doesn't "melt" with ethanolated gas like my buddies sport classic. Too bad Ducati's idea of a fix is to give you larger pucks to hold the expanding gas tank in place. . . PS: sorry, just giving you some s*** for posting this...

How have your performance mods affected your MPG?

Y'all need to keep in mind that a US gallon is about 3.7 liters while an imperial gallon (UK, Canada, elsewhere?) is a bit more than 4.5 liters. That makes a big difference in gas mileage calcs!

    Change of sprockets

The GenI used a 16t front sprocket stock. I haven't heard much about chains wearing out prematurely on the GenI. Basically the 16t does not create an extreme turn for the chain. BTW, in the swap to 16t on the GenII, many buy the oem GenI sprocket as it fits perfectly and is a quality piece...

    which mods for $800

Small gains?? The GenII responds shockingly well to engine performance mods. How about solid gains from 4k rpm up with an extra 25hp on tap by the time you reach 7K? How about no more throttle snatch. How about linear and super smooth power delivery. The beast is significantly corked up in...

    High octane gas

Reread your manual. In the octane rating system used in the US, minimum octane requirement is 87. How many different ways does this have to be said??

    What a Bike!

IMHO, if you are planning on significant performance mods (Power commander in your future) then skip the ECU upgrade unless you can find one for a real steal. Get the FCE (which completely eliminates the fuel cut), and once you have the PC use a proper map and you will be amazed at how good...
