Gen II Clutch Cable Wearing on Radiator Fan

cable adjustment So its been a while since my last post, but I finally got around to greasing my knuckles today. I swapped out the worn cable with a new OEM cable. I expected to have some trouble adjusting the cable correctly and boy was I right.

2009 FZ1 low end missfire, help please.

It took me about an hour to change all four plugs the first time I did it. I unbolted the radiator and left all hoses attached so that I didn't have to drain the coolant. One thing to remember is to put something soft like a rag or tennis ball over the bottom brace so it doesn't puncture the...

2009 FZ1 low end missfire, help please.

So... it took a couple of weeks to get my new coil from partshark, but it finally came today and I put it in the bike. Problem solved. Prior I had tested all the coils with my multimeter and they tested within the allowable specs provided in the Yamaha manual, so I wasn't sure that it was...

Gen II Clutch Cable Wearing on Radiator Fan

Thanks for the suggestions! I guess I have to get pushy around here, eh? Appreciate it. I am still awaiting a new clutch cable but I think I have found a new place to route it nearer to the middle of the radiator. I just need to see if I have the cable length to pull it off.

2009 FZ1 low end missfire, help please.

other coil options Failing coils seem to be a pretty common occurrence on this bike. Does anyone know of any better quality replacement coils other than OEM? If the factory parts are failing, maybe an aftermarket part would be better.

Gen II Clutch Cable Wearing on Radiator Fan

Ok, I searched the forum and found no other posts about this issue, but I cannot believe that no one else would be having the same problem. My bike has around 18k miles on it and I have noticed that the clutch cable is getting worn completely through from the radiator fan as it runs. I had...

2009 FZ1 low end missfire, help please.

I have been dealing with a similar issue on my '09 FZ1. The bike stutters at low rpm, specifically from 2k to 3.5k. I have procrastinated a bit on some of the recommended maintenance and so I changed out the air filter and swapped the OEM plugs out for NGK Iridium. The issue continued. I did...

    Air Filter Comparison

yes, that filter is definitely shown mounted upside down. The seal is not going to do any good if it is not seated against the bottom of the airbox!

    FZ1 Turn Signals

Hello all! I am currently shopping around for some new turn signals for my 2009 FZ1 N. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a decent set of turn signals. I had a bad experience ordering off ebay and ended up with some cheap Hong Kong garbage that never worked right. I don't really want...

    2008 FZ1 dyno graph results w/PC3 map

That seems a little optimistic, 152 hp and 85 ft lb of torque out of an fz1 with those mods seems a little high. According to charts I've seen the stock bike starts with 130 hp and 65 ft lb torque so I wouldn't think you could get those gains with just a pipe and PC. Are you sure those are...

    Yamaha flyscreen

thanks for the pic ballmead. I think that will look great on my bike. It's too bad I can only order it from overseas. The cheapest I found was 100 pounds at the UK yamaha site.

    Yamaha flyscreen

Thanks for the info everyone. I am still debating whether to make the purchase or not. It looks like the Yamaha brand screen only covers an inch or two above the gauges, is that correct? I think that might work for me because I would like to retain the cosmetic appeal of the naked bike. Is...

    Yamaha flyscreen

Hey fellow FZ1 riders! I am new to this forum. I have recently acquired a 2009 Yamaha FZ1 and am loving it. I have done the naked conversion to the bike and I love the way it looks. I am considering purchasing the yamaha brand flyscreen for the bike. I was wondering if anyone has purchased...
