Year before last I had my headers ceramic coated in black by Zircotec. It looked fantastic when I fitted it back on the bike. But, after a couple of thousand miles it began to look very shabby with what looks like rust coming through. Has any one else had any experience of exhaust coatings?
Fitted some Copperdawg flies and junked the AIS crap. Didn't get any block off plates. Used the originals, cut off pipe connector tubes flush with plate face and put in a stainless nut and bolt with a fibre washer. Re-mounted plates the other way up so bolt is not visible. Job done!
Have to agree with the Road 2CT camp. I can ride on these as fast as anyone and in the wet they are absolutely brilliant. Yes, I do like to ride fast in the wet, especially since Michelin gave us the Pilot Road 2 CT.
I actually did this myself using Tech-Line Satin Black. Had the pipes sand blasted and applied the coating with an airbrush. Cant believe how easy it was to put on.
I am doing my headers so normal powder coat is no good. This stuff resists temp upto 2000 degrees! Just wondering how well it sticks and is it durable against stone chipping etc.
I have noticed that US bikes have a nice FZ1 sticker on the side of the fairing. I haven't been able to find these in the UK. Anyone know of a dealer that ships worldwide that may have these?
