What did you do to your FZ today?

Had a great ride Saturday from Hollidaysburg, PA to Chambersburg, PA and back via routes 994, 522, 641, & 997. Some great mountain roads!

Sunday I custom installed some mirrors. They were freebies from my brother that Kawasaki sent to him for some reason for his Z1000, even though he already had mirrors, and these specific mirrors are for a Z750.

I initially drilled and tapped the brake perch where that cylindrical chunk of metal is. Worked great, but I felt it made the mirror sit too high and just looked odd in combination with the naked kit.

I needed them sleeker and lower so I did a custom mount that put them just to the inside of each perch. Worked great and looks great, IMO. They see behind me surprisingly better than the stock mirrors did.

Hi 2300Hz Nice work.

Went to my local stealer and they hooked me up for once! Over on the other forum a member by the name of Naddeo posted a reciept from Honda East of Toledo showing all the part numbers for the naked kit and prices....... $478.?? then $10 for shipping to a total of $488.??

My dealer matched it from a scanned reciept on the forum I showed on my phone..... after taxes bc were both in Indiana it came to $521.43....

I know its only 10 dollars cheaper than partshark.com but it's local 5 min from the house local and I will have it by Wed. of this week!....Sweet

Wow! Nice to live in Indy! Whats the shipping time from Partshark?, 4 hours?? LOL! Thats sweet only I think you also have to pay the tax if you had bought it from them as well, so not bad, and 5 minutes from the house! Do you know how far you are from Partshark and do they allow pickups from their facility? Just curious.

I'm 3 hours from Partshark, so it would have been 80 bucks in gas to drive their, and I think they will allow pickup, my local dealer is North End Cycle, Elkhart, IN

I grew up with the parts guy but he said he wasn't gonna let someone from his backyard buy somewhere else!

Thats good service for ya! I wish my dealer was as nice but not a chance here in the big city!

black fdb adjustable levers with red adjusters installed as well as an evotech "tail tidy" fender eliminator kit. also, i got an icon "urban" magnetic tank bag. that thing is the tits. very nice and roomy. overall very happy with the mods, the only thing that could make it better is the mivv black/carbon suono exhaust. and then i'll really be good to go. workin on it!

Looks good. Just don't do what I did. I am so use to having fully faired bikes that durning one fill up, I took it off, set in down then began to fill up. About two seconds later I'am thinking; what is that smell? Three seconds later I'am calling my self a tard setting it against the header. I now try to make sure I set it on the raised gas island.

What did I do to my fz today? Rode to campus, and found a nail in my rear tire... Crap... I guess it's time to order a new rear... New chain..new front and rear sprocket and front sprocket washer... And a chain tool...

Arrrrgggghhh. I put a flat spot in my rim. I was washing my bike and found this.

I can recall a couple of weeks ago I hit a ripper of a pot hole. I saw it coming to late to avoid but I was able to stand on the pegs and unload the front. However the rear wheel hit with such a bang that when we stopped I felt compelled to check it for damage. I couldn't find anything at the time but here it is now. Bugger.

After reviewing my options, new wheel in Oz $850, Part Shark $370, secondhand wheel availability in Oz Zero I decided to go for the wheel repair. So I went to a shop that was recommended to me. It was a spooky place full of wheels and frames and reminded me of the "dent man" Norm went to to get his tank repaired. Here is the result.

It did come at a price cos the wheel guy did say he wouldn't be able to repair it without some damage to the rim and he may even have to apply some heat!! Expecting the worst I was pleased to find the final damage was just a small scratch on the rim.

There were already a lot of stone chips on the rim anyway so I'm pretty happy with the result. I'll just have to stop enjoying our states fine back roads.

Hey at least there are no cops out here.
