that looks awesome! i may be looking in to this mod! since one of my handles are already broken!

Looks great!
So how did you get the wife to leave you alone when you pulled the bike inside? :jk:

Wife and I split up. :shaking head:

That looks GREAT!

We need a shot of the whole bike with the tail like that... :)

Wouldn''t do any good papa as I have just mounted the tail for some pics to show you guys. It is coming back off and I have taken off all of the other tasty bits. They are boxed up and in storage.

The bike is going bye bye due to divorce. I will buy another Gen II in a year or so and this bike will be resurrected in all its glory and then some. :shine:

Sorry to hear that Bogie. I only hope that your young enough to get through it and still have time to meet the woman that you'll spend the rest of your life with. I know it's hard these days to find the "right" one but don't let one bad apple spoil it for everyone. I, unfortunately feel that after two marraiges that chewed up 20 years of my life, that it's time to "hang it up" and concentrate on living my life with just my son. At 49, theres not much left in me to start "dating" again. Fortunately it gives me peace and quiet at home, and plenty of time to ride and not have to answer to anyone. Thats my upside to being "womanless". I also didn't have a home or property to be sold and split up, another plus. I hope everything works out for you and your back riding again real soon. Please don't let the lack of your bike from keeping up here on the forum!

Thanks guys.

Yeah I'm 40 and I am really considering just flying solo from here on out.

I'll be around the forum. Gotta keep up with the newest mods for the Gen II and see any reports of a GEN III :woot:

Very nice work! Can you explain how it all came together and what was the cost in the end?

Sorry about the divorce. My first wife left me but we didn't have much to split up... it was just a parting of two people. It's what allowed me to meet Michele and have my soul mate for the rest of my life.

It's never too late guys... Don't give up but you don't need to get married to find happiness either. This is a new age and two people "enjoying" each other is perfectly acceptable.

Thanks.....I hold a little hope that there is still someone out there for me.

As for the tail.....all I know is that he cut off the grab bars and used the material from them to plastic weld it. He then did some finishing work and painted it.

I basiclly dropped it off and let him do his thing. As for price.....well I didn't pay what it would have actually cost if it was billed for actual hours and paint. Judging by what he told me it would have cost close to $700 to actually get it done but he took some serious pitty on a guy going through a divorce and money troubles and let it go at under his cost.

He also has said that when I get another FZ1 in a year or so he will paint the tail to match the bike if it isn't the same color. Not many people like that left out there. :icon_beer:
