Sometimes I hate people.

If I am asking 4400 for a bike on CL, why would you offer me "2600 cash right now"?

I replied with a very simple pile of words.

"That is not even a low ball"

He then responds with "Well I could do 3000, but I dont really think I am going too. If you want to think on it let me know".

I just told him its not going anywhere for under 4K, and that he can take his business elsewhere as I DON'T have to sell this bike. I can keep them both, I just find no reason to.

Ugh, sometimes I just hate CL.

I suffer from the same thing you do. I say what I mean!!! LOL
EVERYTIME I try to sell something I run into the exact same thing!! It's really unbelievable how many people will try to haggle with you. LOL Even when you CLEARLY explain that the price is firm!!
LOL
I completely understand your feelings. When I say something - I mean it. When I quote a price - I mean it. LOL I just shake my head at people who completely miss that point. :banghead:

I think mine was revoked at my wedding. I have a pretty good fake though...

That's OK Norm, I got over the novelty of having my testicles a long time ago (going on 26 years of marriage). My wife keeps them in a jar of formeldahyde on the night stand. That HUGE jar gets in the way sometimes.:smoking:

What was this thread about anyway?!?;)

This thread was about how you guys are all de-balled and I am running wild and free. Wild and free with the best beer available to mankind.

And people lowballing me.

LOL

I'm right there with you, going on 27 years.

LOL!

I'm not a big drinker, but when I do its THE KING OF BEERS.

All else = Fail.

The King of low-buck domestic mass-produced beers? ;)

I used to drink nothing but Bud but then all that Bud made me "weiser" and I discovered real beers, beers you don't drink to get drunk, but beers that you drink for the taste, flavors, the fine mixtures of hops, malts, spices, etc.... mmmmmmmmmmmm

When I was younger and a party animal, my older brother challenged me. You know the phrase in the label's ribbon? Recite it word for word without a mistake. Every mistake was a 12 oz can down your throat. Well.... 28 beers later, it was commited to memory. That was 26 years ago and I can still recite it on demand to this day! I don't know if I should be ashamed or proud? :eyebrow:

I still have my man parts, but I've only been married for just over a year so I figure they will die a slow, painful death!

Geno, I've always thought anytime someone offers me money I'm happy. It's easy to understand how so many things may have such different values to many different people.

Simply reply to the tons of CListers as you would be comfortable, but I agree with Norm that it isn't worth it to let it get you steamed. A simple "I can't go that low" has always worked for me, and sometimes inspires a higher offer.

Also, most of the responses I've ever gotten on CL were from resellers trying to steal my bike to resell to someone else later. Dealers without dealerships paying no tax with "open titles". My first question when looking at any vehicle on CL is if they have clear title in THEIR NAME, and how long they have owned it.

You'd be shocked how many are "selling it for a friend", cousin, brother's brother, niece's boyfriend's buddy in Iraq, etc. The fact that your bike is titled to you will make most people more interested, so don't fret the lowballers.

I have to agree 100% though with what was stated above...every single item on Earth is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it, no more, no less. This is the basic pricnciple of Economics, right next to the supply and demand curve explaining why.

Unless of course you are GM and the president hands you Billions so you can declare bankruptcy anyway, then it's worth whatever the helpless taxpayers are willing to pay.

This thread is the exact reason I have parted out my last two CRF 450s on ebay!!!

No hassels dealing with low ballers... The economy does play a huge role however!

My first 2005 CRF450 I made over $3500 and was able to keep my cylinder, wheels, airbox, head /valves...and other goodies. Unbelieveable. I actually got $395 for the carb alone to someone from AZ!

My second CRF450 parted out a year later I barely broke $3000 selling everything I possibly could. In both cases it was fun watching the listings sell and I didn't deal with the hassel of selling outright...

It was a lot of work though...

Looking through some old pics found this one relevant ... shamless phone pic of my kids on my pristine new 2007 CRF .... but note the 05 in the background on it's way to being parted out! LOL Gotta love EBAY :D
