Gen 1 Full Exhaust Swap

Well based on all that you're saying and your limited knowledge of carbs I think you should swap over your old carbs. I really doubt bike will run well with stock jetting and full exhaust.

I went back and read Pat's Motorcycle page and he just mentions a full system on Stock Jetting will just not give me the full potential of the lower and mid range. So I am gonna try it first and see how she does before I go through the bigger hassle of pulling the Carbs off each bike.

Well, call Ivan on Monday morning and he can give you the reason(s) for the current thought process being good or not.

I do not know the reasons, but too lean is a problem waiting to happen.

Ok, good luck. I have the feeling once you remove the stock exhaust (along with the EXUP valve) you're not going to be happy the way it runs on stock jetting. I guess you'll have to try it for yourself...

Dale's Stage 1 & Full Hindle System

Ahhh, EXUP, don't miss it or the weight of the stock system...

This setup works extremely well.

I had to add an extra shim to the needles from Dale's recommendation, and the idle mixture is set a tad richer, otherwise it runs well over the entire rev range, especially over 5k.

That sounds good to me. I am thinking I might have time on Sunday morning to do the swap.

Update:
I did the Swap last Saturday.

I started with a Cold motor.
Took off the inner plastics to expose the Radiator filler Cap.
I drained the Radiator.
Removed the Radiator.
Removed the Stock Silencer.
Removed the Stock Headers - This is where I hit my first roadblock and did not realize I would have to fish out the cabling for the EXUP valve. I found the connection under the Gas tank and moved the box down to hang under the head-tube area. Then I found you have to open up the cap covering where it connects to the base of the headers and was able to get the cables loosened enough to disconnect them and then fish them out. I put the electrical box back where it was and plugged it back in. (I have yet to try and put this all back together on my old bike...)

With everything off I examined the Header Gaskets to make sure everything was in good shape before putting the Yosh Headers on. Then I mounted up the Radiator and filled it up with new fluid. Mounted the Yosh Silencer.

Put back the plastics over the coolant filler cap.

I fired her up and added Coolant as needed, and took her for a spin.

I was told I would not like the way she performed without a jetting kit. Sorry guys, she runs great as she is. Idle is fine, starts up on the first try and feels smooth through the power band, and the noises make me smile.

I am quite happy.

Here is a video of me starting her up:

Yosh system installed - YouTube

Took her to work today (70's here in Socal, don't hate.) and everything feels good.
