race mods please help

Ok

I'm a qualified Motorcycle mechanic and just bought a 2001 FZ1 for a track bike its totally stock except for a micron slip on.

Need to know what I can do to help this thing be better for the track and easier to work on.

1: Can I disconnect the coolant pipes that run into the carbys and just loop the circuit?

2: can I disconnect all the pollution gear crap that comes out of the top of the extractors?

3: Is there an easy way to get rid of the stupid airbox that makes it really hard to remove and install the carbs?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, I just don't know much about the FZ1's and find that the forum communitys have all the answers.

Should take care of ALL your fz1 questions and get you more familar with bike better than a manual.

3) pods 'may' make it a bit easier but it really is not that bad once you've done it a time or two.

What he said. Pat's site is the most complete list of mods you'll find in one spot. I would worry less about power and more about setup (suspension) and tires.
