Continental motion tire combo

Sale at Dealer for April

Ride them in the upper range of the recommended psi. Like most of the review I read said, the C/M like to run a little higher in PSI... Great tire for FL, you will like them.

I put 11K or so on my rear tire and I'm trying to double stint my front. Wasn't a good idea to be honest. For the extra $80.00 I will change both from now on...

I can pay $485 OTD for a pair of Pirellis Angels at CG or $209 for two CM installed ON THE BIKE at the local Yamaha Dealer. HHmmm. MOST of my riding is 7 miles to work and back.

I have about 400 miles on mine riding all over the mountains in North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. I like them good enough. I only paid $175 for mine.

These are my tires with 600 miles on them. Mainly mountain roads. They stuck to the road fine for me. I leaned pretty low on them but I don't accelerate very fast out of corners.

Saturday

I have been researching tires and ran across these Continental Motions. They are getting great reviews on Motosport.com and I wanted to see if anyone on FZ1-Forum has tried these tires out or knows anyone who runs them? For the money they look hard to beat. I run street only, the boss won't let me run at the track:( Any input would be greatly appreciated.:sport12:

Thanks,

Chad

Buying mine tomorrow. 7400 now on my 08 with the original Dunlops. Numerous riders at a CG bike night said mine were good for a month. Shows what I know. I thought I had another 7400 on mine.

Tuesday install

Dealer just tried to tell me if I don't buy them today, they are not on sale Tuesday. I have the flu so don't feel up to riding.

I called them back to read their web site page that said, "Month of April" Sale. They changed their mind to do it on 4/30.

:wtf::wtf::wtf:

Should I BITCH to the Yamaha dealer? I found numerous scrapes and nicks in the edges of my rims (thru the paint). I just cleaned my gold rims of the usual once a week dust since the new Conti Motions on 4/30. That Tuesday morning I PURPOSELY video taped a slow macro inspection of the rims with the original (8500 mile)tires to be replaced (and the Sac Bee newspaper in the background). There was not ONE mark through the paint on both rims. $231 OTD was a bargain for new tires but I was not expecting the tech at 8am to not only leave his black hand-marks all over the rims but 5-6 scrapes through the paint. Is this "much to do about nothing." At 59 and my first bike (2/11/11) I am trying not to be OCD.

Bought a set of these today for $260 installed. I don't ride too hard most of my riding is roadtrips and lots of freeway time, 99% dry. We'll see how it goes!

I think they will do you just fine! I found they were just dandy for dry summer riding and only showed faults with cold, wet weather. Great value for money

I got about 4500 miles out of the rear tire before it was shot. I ran 42 psi which I think was too much. I just replaced the rear with another and am now going to run 36 psi. I will be trying a different tire next time. How in the heck did you get 11k miles out of your rear Marthy?

Weird, I put on a set before a tour and after 4,000 miles the rear tire hasn't even squared off. That was running about 2,200 miles on flat prairie to get to the mountains. I'm running 38 psi in the rear.

Also good in the snow.

I have about 1k on my new Motions. Got to test brakes today at early lunch.

Locked my Motions up at 35mph today, when I started to pass between two cars at a yellow light. BAD idea. Both cars slammed on their brakes at yellow light and they came too close together. I saw I had no out, so applied the brakes and made myself VERY narrow as I slide "two" car lengths feathering both brakes all the way to the cross walk.

COULD NOT BELIEVE I KEPT CONTROL and stopped after what felt like eternity.

Glad you're still in one piece! That is a clencher of a moment eh? Still, better than going through a yellow and winding up inside the grill of an F150 or something

I am glad to hear you are okay!

I have one of these tires on the rear from the PO replacing the tire before selling the bike I guess it was just a cheaper option....

It HAD to be.

My Yamaha/Kawi/Suzuki local dealer sells LOTS OF TIRES. They must have a tire sale a week. Last year, at 8k I got both Conti Motions (mounted) for $231 OTD.

I wore out the rear twice in 8k miles and 1 front. I lost traction a few times pushing corners, skid the rear accidentally a few times and lost the rear in rain riding what I thought to be a safe speed. After two rear s and a front I would only buy them again if I was intending to sell the bike. I havent found my perfect tire yet.

Sounds much like my experience with the Conti Motions. Terrible wet weather traction. Try some Pilot Roads! :) No lie, they are like twice the tire of the Conti Motion
