Official YZF Makeover Thread

That sucks Scott. My saving grace when I was hit a couple of years back was that I was out cold for an hour and woke up in the hospital. I have no recollection of the accident so it instilled no fear of getting back on the bike. I think had I'd been concious through the ordeal, I may have thought differently about getting back on. So while I was unlucky in having the accident, I was lucky that I can'r remember it. I'm glad your back though!

Wow, from that point of view Billy, yes very lucky indeed! :)
Yeah I'm so happy that I'm back on a bike too, it's just so much fun... all those cagers have no idea what they are missing out on and be buggered if we're going to tell them! :D

I removed the front flush mounts and am happy to report that the mounting location is clean except for a small ring from where the rubber grommet sat. I'll buff that out with the rubbing compound. Stock signals should be here soon.

Glad you found the stock signals Billy. I can see why you wanted them after seeing what was there and then behind the scenes! Good deal! Michele and I need to get down there for a weekend ride when the weather is nice!

Yea Billy that should buff right out. Glad to see the PO didn't drill any holes on those fairings. It will look so much better with the stock ones...

Thats a definite! We'll have a ball down here! Let's make it happen! Trailer the bikes down and we'll store them in the garage.

Yep, I got lucky on the fronts. I will have the rears soon. I'm just waiting for my "metal fab" friend to get me the custom license plate holder that I designed. I gave him the full size template I fabbed up and also the old plate from the Ninja and a sheet of 3/16th stainless steel. He had told me Monday but as you can see he's late. I can't complain as he won't charge me for it.

You have bigger "cajones" than I do. You know what kind of "one day" mileage your talking right??? My azz is hurting just thinking about it!:eek5:

Well, you and Tony did it to come see us, right? So we have the same size "cajones", eh? (I'm NOT unzipping to compare.... ;) ) And we'll be on the TS seats. We'll take mostly back roads and stop for breaks.

Yeah, but me and Tony rode one way, then hung out, ate, and then went to sleep. I hope your not thinking of riding home the same day. Highly unlikely.:wilynily:

No, it would be to crash on the floor or couch with the bikes all in the garage on Friday. ;) Ride around on Saturday then leave for NH on Sunday. We don't take much space. :D

Well if you come down, I will ride my YZF so Billy doesn't feel left out ;)

Seriously it will be a lot of fun. Hopefully we can come up with a date that works for us all.

Let's see if Michele will commit to Memorial Day weekend and we can squeeze a four day weekend out of it. A pair of FZs and a pair of YZs. Nice!

Billy, you've got plenty of time now to get the bike on the road.... see? :D

...

Well Eric unfortunately I can tell you right now that Memorial Day weekend is not going to work for me. I already made plans for Cape May, NJ...

Oh no!! We'll have to see what we can arrange and maybe STILL eek out a 4 day weekend. :D We'd be arriving later Friday afternoon/evening and leaving bright and early Mon. Morning... We can squeeze in two full days of riding. More to come! Any other bad weekends?
