My own Take

My bike. My ideas. My hobby. Not interested in resale. Mods make my gen II run great without hesitation, stalling etc, other mods for looks. Part of the fun of riding these machines is working on them. Back in the "old days" we had to work on carbs, balance carbs, adjust carbs, replace points, adjust points etc. These modern bikes are low maintenance, oil and filters, chain adjust, gas up, ride. I like to have my hands in the bike, not just ride it. So, performing mods on my bike is having my hands in the machinery.

Well, after 25 years of riding various motorcycles, I can say that modding is a persons personal preference. My
Bikes have always been modded to suit my needs and tastes. AND, I absolutely LOVE wrenching on my bikes. There's no better way to learn about your bike and know it inside and out, then to be the one who does the wrenching. I see motorcycling as a freedom, an individualism, and treat my bikes mechanically and visually the same way.
