Yamaha 0996 Dark Purplish Blue Metallic U Paint Match

Decided to paint match my luggage. Pleasantly surprised at the paint match from my local auto store. Kia Deep Ocean Blue 911814 is a very convincing match to Yamaha Dark Purplish Blue Metallic U DPBMU 0996!

Awesome! I use ColoRite 0564 Yamaha Racing Blue. But you have to use a white base primer to get a color match. I painted the side cover , I think it looks pretty good

That's something , how did you find out that it was a match Chamolm

My local parts store scanned it. They have a PPG camera system for matching paints and this was what it spat out.

So do you have to put a white base, or just the color itself?

I used a black automotive primer but it did come out of a touch dark on some elements so I would advise a neutral or light base coat.

I have a chip on my tank from dropping something on it. I tried fixing it with the spay can but that difficult. What I usually do is use touch up paint and what I'll do is dab it until the paint builds up higher than the original and then I sand it flat and then buff it out and it comes out pretty good. UT it's to find the exact color. I ordered some paint from the UK, it was expensive and to dark.
