I am looking for the rear seat off of a gen2. Any condition is welcome, I am going to tear it down to the tray.

I have done this for my homemade rear cargo deck. I bought a new one so I could switch out to take a passenger if I needed to. They are not that expensive if you can't find someone to part with one.

Yup! Partshark.com has it for $64.80 new. Part number for the TANDEM SEAT ASSY is
3C3-24750-00-00.

I am planning on adding a rear trunk. I take a couple trips a year and it would be nice to not have to strap a duffel bag down with a thousand bungee cords. I know that the seat isn't too expensive I was checking for a better deal first

I am looking at a Shad top case that cost around 100 dollars. For example Get Your Motorcycle Accessories , Motorcycle Helmets , and Motorcross GEAR at The Iron Pony!
For now I will probably just use the hard top with some soft throw-over saddle bags.
Any thoughts or suggestions for the process of converting a seat to a rack?
