Lunch at Neptune's Net and who do I end up sitting at a table with. Greg Louganis. It's the dude in the hat. I guess he hosts a tv show now called splash on abc.

The guy in the leathers is Bucky. If you watch rnickeymouse and other mulholland youtubers he is the guy on the supermotard who kills it

Glenn made it out ok. AC separation of his shoulder. Still doesn't remember the crash. Said first thing he really remembers is being in the helicopter. Remembers some of the conversation we had while tending to him before the emt showed up

This was shot as he got back to the hotel. Hospital gown and motorcycle boots like a bawse

Quite a trip! Keep the rubber side down and have fun. Sorry about Glenn but it looks like he was wearing proper gear and saved a lot MORE damage.

Keep the pics coming!

Wow, sorry to hear. Is he one of the guys riding with you? At least he had a doctor in the group. How did his bike fare? I hope you guys have an uneventful remainder of a ride. Stay safe buddy!

Yes he was one of the guys in our group. We were on our way to lunch. It was a canyon road and it happened after a little straight that entered into a chicane. Nobody saw it but it looked like he was transitioning from a left to right that he may have either hit the brake or leaned too far and low sided. He slid about 50' into a dirt wall. We were going about 35. Only damage was to the right side of his bike (triumph Daytona 955i 2006) slider and bar end took most of damage and the plastics. Bike is rideable

Glad the trip turned out mostly positive and your friend is (mostly) ok. I guess the law of averages caught up with him. "It's not if...it's when." Otherwise looks like a hell of a trip, really wish I would have made that trip when I lived in AZ. Can't wait for the video.

Ate me some chicken strips today. Still have some to go but pretty good on PR2s. I finally figured out part of why I was hating on them. With my size and the seat position of the bike I was getting too heavy on the handlebars. Today I got up on the pegs threw the bike on its side and hung off with less weight in the bars. I started to get a groove and some of my confidence back after my 2 wrecks.

First video I made: Just some highlights. Riding videos to come later. Too much footage to work through.

Made it home in one piece. Had an awesome day. Rode the Ortega Highway for a second time today. The road has a lot of great corners. The speed limit is 55 but the corners are yellow sign 30 mph. So basically you can rip the whole trip and not worry about getting stopped unless you go nuts on a straight. I even passed a motorbike cop and got him to wave was I was coming out of a corner at 55.

Then I made my way up highway 74 further from Hemit to Idyllwild. Even more amazing road although the road was a little rougher. At Idylwild you're actually on 243 and can stay on that back down the mountain to Banning. Awesome scenery although I had to focus on the road more because there was a lot more gravel in the road. You could tell the sweepers hadnt been through yet.

I'm pretty jealous of the SoCal riders. Arizona has some great riding roads but the California canyon riding is something in its own right

Awesome day. Rode the infamous "Snake" and did not crash. Thank goodness. I totally understand how people crash there. The road has dirt and gravel in from people pulling in and out. And many of the corners don't look like decreasing radius but are.

I tried to get a ninja pic of rnickeymouse at the back corner of the truck. He was up there at 10 when we got there and I shot this at 430. Dude is dedicated.

We did have one rider go down. He had a likely concussion and was air lifted to ucla. He was just released from the hospital. So all positive thoughts are appreciated

I appreciate the report on that infamous corner. I have wondered so many times what happened when I see people go down.

This was my first run up the "Snake"

and this was my last good one. The police were all over throughout the place later in the day.

You may want to Mute: I moved camera to a handlebar mount and it rattled like crazy

Hey Ssky,
Thanks for stuff on your trip - the description and video. Your first-hand description of the debris on Mulhulland - contributing to guys going down - that answers some questions about that section. Really good stuff to know. Put's rnickymouse videos into a more meaningful perspective.

I gotta say that in your relatively short time on the board - from your first bike stuff, honest crash analyses, bike comparisons, tavelogs, ... to now - you have become a major contributor. I, for one, appreciated what you bring to the board - and I thank you.

Thanks Lindy,

I do really appreciate the sense of community here on the forum. I'm glad that some of the stuff I have to put out there is entertaining.

Hope you and our other lovely forum mates enjoy the new video from my trip

Thanks for bringing us along. I really want to ride that area someday. I doubt it will happen. I'm glad you had a good time and made it home safely.

BDazzler,

I gotta say that if you can ever make the trip it will definitely be worth it. I've driven a car in 38 out of 48 continental US states. I've only ridden in AZ and CA. Of all the roads I've ever been on only the drive up over the Blue Ridge Mountains comes close to the awesomeness of the SoCal canyon roads.

Nice videos looks like fun. On your first trip up it looks like you pull in right behind a retro FZ1 was he with you?

Up at the top I think is what you were referring to and it was a Gen II with the retro kit. Later in the day I saw a blue Gen I up at the top and there was a streetfighter'd blue Fz6 making runs

Great footage. Thanks again. It makes me want to get out and ride. I had hoped to ride today, but mother nature didn't like my plans. High of 46, cloudy, possible rain and very wet everywhere. I'm not pulling a "Billy" :flip: (sorry, Billy, but I had give you a hard time :))

I have some footage from a ride last September with my wife in southern IL and a little in KY still on the SD card in the Hero 2. I need to get it off the card and edited, but I'm not sure what software to use (PC). I've never edited video before. I think I have Adobe Premier Elements 9 or 10, but I've never used it.

I'm hoping to go to the Dragon in the next few years. That may be the best I ever get. I'm not sure I'll make a ride to CA on the FZ. Maybe if I get an FJR I could handle the trip, but then the snake wouldn't be quite as fun.

Thanks for the videos!

Those roads seem ok but my god are they busy and full of other motorcycles. Your videos answered a question I had about how busy a twisty road outside of LA would really be! The LA area alone has about the same population of my entire province and it's hard to imagine the congestion and people everywhere 24/7. :o

I'll stick to the perfect, empty roads up in NorCal.

Well once you plug your GoPro in it will usually ask if you want to install GoPro Cineform Studio. If it doesn't then go to GoPro website and download it.

It will ask you to import the clips you want which will be on the camera usually in the DCIM folder. Just select em and import them.

Then you can use the in and out function to select the part of the clips you want and then click on the convert all. Go to step 2.

Export mp4 next. Of you want to mess with brightness or whatever. Knock yourself out but that's too much for me.

If you have adobe that is a lot nicer. I just use windows movie maker for now till I can afford adobe
