Well, the time finally came to upgrade the wife (bad eye and all) :flash:

After looking at a new Triumph Street Triple R and deciding it wasn't time since it's being redesigned for next year, and then at a Ducati Monster 796 and hating the idea of paying $11,300 for a 60HP air-cooled V-Twin, I decided to get her this 2005 MV Agusta Brutale S (750).

She loved the ride of the STR and the look of the Monster 796, but once she saw the MV she understood how I've been a previous owner and a fan for so many years.

Once she rode it, heard the radial valves and felt the upright giant-dirt-bike riding position, she was in love.

Here's some pics. I know it seems like a big jump from a 250R to an MV, but the bike is actually quite rideable in its stock state.

Enjoy.

I'm hoping that Brian can "upgrade" me soon as well! Anniversary Edition R1 will suffice just fine!

I think I'd upgrade myself to that first Billy! What can I say? I love the Wifey and she loves the MV, so there you have it.

Besides, you know you can ride anything in the garage Billy.

Happy Wife = Happy Husband!

Very nice Brian and congrats to her! What a sweet upgrade! It's awesome to have a wife that rides her own bike! ;)

Thanks buddy! The feeling is reciprical! But I only have one thing in the garage. Hahaha!!!!

Anyone who loves to ride as much as I do wouldn't care if it was a Harley or a crazy V-Max like crazy Dave has...I'll ride anything.

And don't think you're getting off the hook that easily...I'm hoping to sample your YZF someday too you know!

You know as well as I do how many hours I must have had to beat my head against the wall teaching my wife how to ride PROPERLY! :banghead:

I'm only happy when she lets me ride it, and she checks the bike for bugs or dirt almost nightly. I do love that she rides so I can stick our daughter on the back and have the family go out sightseeing or for ice cream.

Without a doubt bud. Sooner than you think! Colonoscopy on Friday :eek5: And then it's time to make some trips out West!!!!

Here's a quick low-quality vid of her - the bike not the wife.

The prep is way worse than the procedure. Had to start that stuff at 35 due to my family's history. Try being 35 and talking with your friends about it...

I know, the prep starts tomorrow...UGH!!! At least we know your okay. I guess we have to be thankful for early detection and prevention. At least thats what I keep telling myself!:embarrased:

Great bike. I don't think my wife is ready to upgrade yet, but I think if I can get her to test ride a Ninja 650 or something like it she would want to. She just has short legs and even had to have the Ninja 250 lowered. It's hard to find a lowered bike for her to test.

What is the red line on that? That tach goes pretty high and I couldn't see any indication of where to stop. The exhaust is beautiful and sounds great too. Very quick reving. Congrats to you both.

Troy, my wife checked out the Ninja 650 and just felt like the bike was too top-heavy and tippy. Seemed very manageable but for a shorter person I would think much of the weight will be high compared to where she would like it. I really wanted the Ninja 650 to be the perfect bike for her but it just wasn't a good fit. The Gladius felt better to her than the 650. My wife is fairly tall for a woman though, so the seat height usually isn't a problem.

As far as the Brutale's redline, there is no indication on the tach but it maxes out around 12,000 rpm. There is a shift light on the far right of the cluster as well.

The bike is awesome!!! I think that your FZ1 will have a hard time keeping up with the Augusta Brutale !!!! :D :D :D

Thanks! Also, one less U in it:

Agusta

Lucky for me she still hasn't done any trackdays and such so I can probably take her with the 250 while she cruises at 55mph!

Some people were asking, so I'll post up that it's an inline 4. 749cc, fuel injected, about 430lbs wet weight, approx. 100Hp at rear wheel. She has just over 2,400 miles on her.
