Where in NH are you? IF you want to come over, I can help with a lot of those things. Got the garage and tools and knowledge... :D I love to wrench! I'll teach you along the way.

Yes! Billy, when are you two coming up for a ride and not wrenching? :D :D :D :D

I can take care of this member's needs and show him all about the bike as well as explain why we do these mods and the effects of each one. Hopefully he is within a short ride to Dover!

I would take FZ1NH up on his offer.

But if you decide to roll on your own - there are step by step instructions on just about any mod that you want to attempt. Just use the search button.

If you are looking for a some popular modifications:

Suspension upgrades are real popular.
I have upgraded every air filter (to K&N) and exhaust (I have M4) in every vehicle that I have owned. I just like the deeper/aggressive sound. There is also an airbox mod to allow more air in. I personally do not think getting an entire exhaust (headers/pipes/slip on muffler) is worth it. It's only a few hp gain for around $800. But it's your money and your bike. You can do anything that you wish. Some guys have done the full upgrade and swear by it.
Not sure if you have a Gen 1 or 2 but the Gen 1 has a carb and there are carb kits to give you more horsepower. If your Gen 2 - you have fuel injection. There is a Power Commander that allows you to program your fuel injection. Sounds complicated but I have heard that it's not too bad.
LOL - Lot's of people MODIFY THE SEAT!!! HAHAHA. I personally think the stock seat is OK but you will hear a lot of complaints. My butt starts going numb after about 350 miles. After about 700 miles - it hurts!!!
A lot riders talk about brake lines/pads as upgrades.
Plus - pretty much every cosmetic upgrade you could possibly think of. :D Carbon fiber is real popular right now. Different kinds of grips are real popular as well as foot pegs/ rear sets.
Just google FZ1 __________ (fill in the blank)
Partshark is the best deal on prices as a whole. You can catch sales at other places but that is generally going to be your best deal.
Welcome to the addiction  Your billfold will feel it - I promise :D

FZ1inNH you are a top bloke! Whenever I log on here for a browse, I always see you posting offering help. Good for you but I have one complaint...

WHY DON'T YOU LIVE IN ENGLAND!!!!

---
I am here: Google Maps

But I do live in England... it's just "New England" and not the original. So move over here! It's Dover and it's in "New" England so we can make you feel right at home. :D

Yes, I love to help, love bikes, love wrenching and modding....

i plan on taking the offer but atm i need to make money so i can spend haha cuz i foresee alot of money going into this bike haha

Well, we can do the airbox mod, de-screen the OEM filter and mod the flies all for free. If you buy a slip-on exhaust, that is a 15 minute job too.

BTW, I work cheap.... Sam Adams 6 pk! LOL!!! ;)

I have had that and it IS good beer! Seriously, any micro brew is good with me. I'm NOT a fan of domestic beer. I like beers with flavor and substance! :D

I wouldn't bother de-screening the oem air filter, it does nothing.
it's a better idea to buy an after market air filter which flows way better and can be cleaned so you will never have to buy another one again.
