This FZ1 is just that !!! Way better than the bike that started this madness earlier this year. I just got back from a little ride on the Fizzer, so I thought I'd take a minute to write and give you guys that are in colder climates, something to read.
It all started in March of this year. I wanted to add a cheap, sporty bike to the garage. Just something cheap to ride to work and keep some of the miles off my Harley. ( no jokes guys, the Harley runs perfect). Something to ride when the wife stays home, which is rare. Anywho, I found a 1998 Suzuki Katana for sale for $1600.00 with about 7,000 miles on it, been in storage for awhile and didn't run. Looked exc., so I bought it, drained the gas tank, changed the plugs and choke cable and she fired right up !!! With tax, title, everything, I was in it for about $1900.00. Found a guy that traded me his 2003 Yamaha 1100 for the Katana and $1,000.00 cash. Before I even got the title back for the Yammy, I traded it to a guy, even up, for a 2007 Yamaha FZ6. Great little bike. In a moment of weakness, I thought I wanted to get back into TT racing quads, so I traded the little Fizzer for a 2009 Suzuki LT-Z400 and the guy kicked in a couple hundred bucks. The next day I regretted it, but it was too late. Done deal. I rode the Z400 1 time and realized that at my age (50 in a few months) my racing days had passed me by. Last week I traded a guy that Z400 for this 2002 FZ1 that is mad !!!
I got a bunch of extras with it, as some of you have read on my first post here, and I am lovin' this bike. It's a blast and it will FLY !!!
Needless to say, this big Fizzer is
Waaaayyyyyyy better than that Katana that started this madness and alot better than the FZ6 that REALLY got me wanting a liter bike.
I thought I wanted lowers instead of the bottom fairing, spoon, whatever it's called that came with my bike, and I wass even offered a deal from Brohay here, but I think I'm just going to stick with the spoiler (whatever it's called ) and let the engine show.
Ride safe !

chin spoiler

It is commonly called a chin spoiler. I may yet add one to my 2008. So many things to spend hard earned cash on.
I think you ended up with the best bike in the end. You should post more pictures of your new ride, it's a good looking machine. I'm with you on the engine showing as well. Besides, you can use the Harley when you need a bigger fairing.

You certainly did! Thats a real "looker". I'm happy that your enjoying the ride. Like you said in previous posts, the Hog has it's place as well. If I had the dough, I'd probably have a big cruiser in the stable as well. After riding the Road King and the new Fatboy, I could definitely see myself with one. The only thing I didn't like was the excessive heat generated by those 1586cc engines in the heat of summer. Otherwise it was a extremely comfortable ride! Have a blast on your Fizzy!
