Valve clearance time?

Hey Guys and Gals, I have a rythmic ticking noise around the top end? any ideas? My first guess is valve clearances?

Is it constant at all RPMs? My bike will have slight ticking during warm up. I used to worry about it, but a mechanic informed me some noise is preferable to no noise-meaning the valves are too tight. I'd say take it in to the shop, but your '07 is prob out of warranty, right?

How many miles are on your bike? I think all of our bikes make a little bit of ticking/clattery noises at certain rpms. Personally, if it runs ok and your mechanic says it's ok and you aren't close to the 26k mile valve adjustment.... I wouldn't worry about it.

If the bike is cold it will make more noise than a warm bike; if that is the case not to worry.

I took my bike in at 23,500 for other work and had them do the valves. I had seven that were out of spec. The mechanic said he usually sees 2 to 3 out of spec.

Thanks guys, my bike is just gone 23k so I think I will get the clearances done over the winter for peace of mind.
