Throttle issue on warm engine

Hi there,
I have a 2007 FZ1-S fazer. After running the engine for a while and I turn the throttle handle just swiftly open and close, the gas/revs stay(s) up/open for a second or two instead of shutting down revs. Any idea?
On a cold enigine there is no problem and I can turn the throttle just fine on and off and revs act accordingly. :confused:

my first thoughts are to check the throttle cable free play , it may have been over adjusted , try slackening the adjuster back a tad see if that helps , after that check the routing of the cable , make sure it flows nicely around around its route , not trapped or snagging
