Throttle cable adjustment?

There is an adjusting nut on the cable about 4 to 5. inches or so downstream of the twist grip. First get your idle speed adjusted to 1,100-1,300 rpm, then turn the nut to attain 3-5 mm or .12-.20 in. free play. The manual shows the adjusting nut at the very end on the cable (throttle grip end) but on my Gen II it's actually about 4-5 inches down as I said. The pictures and proceedures are on page 3-8 & 3-9 of the Yamaha FZ1 servicemanual.
