How do you keep the tank from getting scratched ?

If you are not careful, you don't. I accidentally forgot to check mine and I scratched part of my tank.

So far I am really liking the Backpack Cargo netted to the back. My 2003 FZ1 came with a Top Box Mount already installed, so there are a number of good places for me to mount the cargo clips.

At times I do a bit if metal grinding and cutting in my garage. Not long ago I had my tank bag sitting near my work table while working on a project. Went to put it on the bike a few days later and checked the magnets for debris. Covered in little metal shards. Wouldn't have ended well for the pretty white fuel tank.

You gotta make sure your tank bag has good magnets... and protection. I add an extra soft layer of microfiber.. just to make sure nothing bad happens or scratches up my bike.

Also be sure to clear the bottom, it can pick up all kinds of magnetic shit from the ground
