Boy! I didn't realize that they even "made" Dobermans anymore!:eyebrow:
I can't remember the last time I even saw one until now. Where have they been keeping them!

Hey Norm, I'm sure you remember "Jaws" and Richard Dryfuss's famous line, "I think we're gonna need a bigger boat". Well with that behemoth of a truck, your gonna need a bigger garage!!! I would just park the Prius in the back of the pickup, and park both bikes where the Prius is now! Haha!

Since he's a Doberman it's quite common to have their ears operated on to make them narrow and always sticking up. Under those bandages are some sticks holding up the ears until they heal. End result:

are you expecting aliens??? The thought blockers on the dobermans head remind me of "signs" that is indeed a tight fit buy a cover for the truck and put the bikes in the garage
 
Yea, as Billy said I've moved down to Port St. Lucie Florida. Also as Billy said, Doberman's used to be common as heck when we were kids, especially in New York and other urban areas as they are very graceful for such large dogs, don't need tons of exercise to keep their athletic looks, and are one of the best guard dogs, much like the German Shepherd. The movies have vilified them over the years and they became less popular as a family dog simply because of the media, IMHO, but I had one as a kid. Anyone who has ever owned one will tell you they loved them.

Scotty, as Tony said, the ears and the tail are surgically "cropped" which gives the Doberman its distinctive looks. With much pressure from the humane society and others, cropping is being done less and less but without it they look like a coon hound, which is sort of like a wolf in sheep's clothing. There's no mistaking them though with the sharp ears and short tail.

Back to the subject at hand: I think I'm going to take the most expensive option and buy a trailer that fits both bikes. I sold my half of the trailer I co-owned with Rollie to him before I left. My mom has no problem with me parking it on the driveway. They can be had new, fitting 2 bikes, for around $2500-$3500. Obviously less if I find a good used one. And this way, when I visit my friends up north I can trailer one or both bikes. With the trailer on the driveway I can easily ride in and out with the bikes and the trailer will keep the bikes nice and fresh.

If you put them in a trailer you are still going to want to cover them to protect them from the rain. If it was me, I'd put the beast in the driveway and the bikes in the garage. I don't see where you or your mother have room to open the door to get in and out of the vehicles anyway. My car and Eric's truck stayed out in the elements all winter so the bikes and all the other detritus we've managed to collect could have a comfy place to live.
 
It's an enclosed trailer Michele like the one I had. It'll work no problem. Just expensive.
 
Mine stays outside with a regular cover, but I've only had my bike for about a year and a half. When I move from current location (Military) I may be in a house with garage or at least covered drive way. I'm a detailer however so mine stays highly polished and lubed. I imagine if you're going to leave her outside it's fine, you'll just have to step up your cleaning routine
 
Just happen to come across this thread searching for something else. That's a nice looking Dobe Norm. I've got 2 of my own & you're right. One's ears are cropped & the other's are natural. You'll never know unless you own 1 or 2 or 3, LOL.

Hope you've solved your parking dilemma by now. i just recently moved myself[bigger yard for the Kids Ariel & Kai(Dobes)] & now have a 30x30 shed to place the FZ1.
 
I know this thread is dead and all, but seriously park the prius outside and keep your bikes inside.

(I hate the toyota prius, IMO the most useless vehicle ever.)
