Stop Google Chrome from recording History

OK guys - I let down my guard because I'm single right now and I can look at anything on any computer that I own. However, that made me lazy. LOL I used to wipe my history religiously.
Well I was on a work computer and got BUSTED!!!! The tech who came in behind me was able to tell on me by showing minute by minute - all the webpages that I visited during the previous nights work. LOL Received a nice little talk from the boss!!! :doh2:
That got me to searching for a solution to disable the history feature. LOL Let me tell you that it's not easy in Chrome. There are Youtube videos that show you how but they didn't quite match up to my system (Windows Vista Home - LOL - Yeah I know - That sucks!). Anyway - I kept looking and found something that works.

It is called No History 1.0

Download No History 1.0 Free - Google Chrome extension that stops your browser from recording your history - Softpedia

I have been running it for a few weeks with NO problems.
Just wanted to pass this along for any of you who have people in your life who investigate your internet usage.

ok i didn't kill her, but we did break up and for some reason, almost 2 years later, i still find myself wiping my history clean. damn old habits! she beat it into my brain real good!

HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Don't get me started.
Then you get the talk "If you aren't doing anything wrong, why do you wipe your history?"
:wilynily:
Because I want to!!!!!!!!! LOL

or, "if you really love me then i should be enough. you shouldn't have to look at that stuff!"

response that you wanna say: "get a grip, i'll never get with any of them, it's all about the fantasy and it's harmless so chill out!"

what you actually say: "you're right honey. you're the only one i want, in real life and cyberspace."

and then you never stop, but you do let things cool down and refrain from going to those sites for a couple months. and it begins a new.

and this is the cycle of the internet history.

keep fighting the good fight popjock.

Not sure what you got busted for viewing but be careful. Sometimes installing something like your No History app can also be grounds for a talking to. Since the tech looked, found, and reported your previous actions, I'd not put it past the department from having this attitude towards your new software.

That is of course coming from an IT guy who has better things to do than monitor which motorcycle sites a guy visits. Of course, if I come across something really bad, I do have to report it. But in general....

LOL
That is a good idea but I used an alternative angle. LOL I told her that I was looking for ideas to keep things spicy between us. She paused, tilled her head and continued to gripe :fencers:

No worries Jason. It wasn't porn. Porn at work = unemployment and I can't have that.
I was just looking at Facebook, Ebay, a couple of motorcycle forums, etc. The girl coming in after me is crazy anyway and she had a shitty day. I think she was just looking for something to go off on and found my internet history. The reason I think that is because she uses Internet Explorer and I use Chrome. But you are correct. Downloading rogue software can come back on you. We share workstations at this pharmacy and I waited until the day shift was coming on. I seriously doubt they will track when it was downloaded but if they do, there were about 50 employees in the building.
So far this program has run very well.

Chrome menu - "New Incognito Window" ??? NOTHING is saved in that window. (Ctrl-Shift-N)

Of course where I work, we have a syslog box with 6 TB of space that logs EVERYTHING on our network period. That means every single URL visited by anyone passing traffic to and from the network. No hiding at all.

+1 We record everything in and out. Nothing stored on the local computer matters. Not that we are constantly monitoring but we have at times had to produce information for HR when they need some backup for reported issues.

Just curious what you guys are using if you know offhand. Also, does it log time spent surfing or just the urls that were surfed?

It's a topic that has come up that my bosses and I have managed to sweep under the rug a few times, but I'm not sure how long I can dodge the bullet. Knowing what others use and what they think is way better than searching and trying to find something.
