Starter Relay

Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I posted anything but started to have an annoying click when pressing the starter button on my 2010 FZ1-N. Press the starter button a couple of times I get the annoying click then the starter kicks in and all runs fine and it only happens when the bike has been stood for a few days.
I've been looking at prices for a new starter solenoid as I've heard this is a common problem and there seems to be a big difference in prices. Fowlers have them in stock but are charging £86 whereas the ones on eBay are between £10 - £15 new.
Has anyone used the cheaper ones off eBay and are they any good or is it a case of buy the so called genuine Yamaha part for £86.

everything OEM is heavily inflated. Id take the risk and try the ebay ones, its not like you will lose much if they turn out to be a dud.

I'm pretty sure that if you don't want to support OEM inflated prices eBay is your option with cheaper price tag it's a good bet.

You can also save money by buying OEM parts online through places like RevZilla or rocky mountain or Chaparral.

My starter relay has failed too about 6 months ago. Decided to go for one of those £10-£15 relays. Many thousands miles later, 6 months and still works like a charm. After all, relay is not a complex device.There are certain parts that I only buy OEM but this is definitely not one of them.
