Would I get better MPG with 17/44 instead of 16/44 rear?

I used the fz1 RPM calculator and It should lower my RPM, Would I get better mileage or am I missing something???

It will be more jittery in traffic. If you live in an area with heavy traffic, the smaller sprocket provides more torque at low speed and makes it easier to drive around.

Better millage on the hi-way yes....from coast to coast....but probably loose some around town and in traffic.
try starting off in 2nd gear for a day and shifting 1K rpm sooner than you do thats what it'll feel like.

I've used 15-44 16-44 and 17-44 The change in fuel economy is minimal. 1-2 mpg max between 15-44 and 17-44.
I do not recommend 17-44 (unless you plan some iron but rides) as it makes the bike a slug off the line. Also the 17 tooth front sprocket is a very tight fit unless you convert to a 520 chain.
