Help !
.) I believe the FZ1 I just purchased (on ebay) has a 'Sprocket-Specialist's' 47T ALUMINUM sprocket on it. It is very shiny and a bright alum. color, and, of course, a magnet won't stick. It is stamped: ACE SS 336
.) I have never used an all aluminum sprocket before and worry about rapid deformation of the teeth and then the chain. Always had the factory steel ones in place, with no unusual wear problems of any kind.
.) I like the gearing reduction (15-47) that the previous owner has installed, but, am considering a steel replacement for the rear asap.
.) The chain is a D.I.D. 50?? It measures: 3/8" inside the inner plates, and 5/8" center to center of the pins. I can't remember the dimensions of a 530, but this sounds right to me.
.) Lastly, I am leaning toward a STEALTH 47T 'TRI-METAL' if you all think I should make the change. BTW, Should I just change it out now, or ride it awhile and wait until the teeth begin to wear. . .? Thanks,
