Alright guys, I am getting close to ordering the CopperDawg Speed Screen.

Here is what I want to know.

Going on this bike (Older pic without belly pan as it resembles more of what I am going to have when I remove the pan and change the exhaust):

Do I want to go with the center section in just satin like this:

Or go for the glossed over section like this:

Here is a bike with the center section in satin. Now remember, I will be using my stock rear view mirrors, not bar ends..

I can't find any with a gloss section...

This bike right here has the entire thing done in Raven Black...

What do you guys think you would do? Its tricky with my bike becuase its all black. So much easier with the non black bikes as the center being black looks sweet.

My Girlfriend says that matches everything better. I am leaning that way as well.

Still would love input from everyone else though to see the general consensus.

I think I like the satin (and it's a bit cheaper too), especially for the slower black bike. :poke:

Are you looking at the short, medium or tall screen? Getting the normal or scalloped? I've considered these screens too, but I'm also having a hard time with the choices. I'm leaning toward the tall or medium normal. :2cents:

Papa I have a 2010 Raven also and like you I will be getting a CD windscreen. They all look great so it is a tuff choice but medium, normal cut and all Raven black gloss is my favorite. The gloss really shows off the quality.

oh look shiny things...

I like both for different reasons. The matt center goes with the frame and the black side covers and shows off the shape and lines of the front of the bike. The gloss would be easier to keep shiny and like noted shows off the quality of the piece, and I like shiny. Either way it will dramatically change the overall look of the bike, you really can't go wrong, but you need to look at lots of pictures and be sure YOU are happy with the choice.

I bought the gloss because I thought the matte would be a little more difficult to clean bugs off it.

What about asking him about another color up there? And Wayne is right, this is not a windscreen, it is a body panel. It will allow a lot more air to hit your body, but it smooths out the air and gives you a clean stream.

I don't think any other colors would look "right" up there...

I really don't know which color to go with, I like them all for different reasons...

I think the solid raven looks really sharp, but then it doesent have the cool looking V going down the middle of it..

This is definitely a hard choice. I actually like the looks of the matte black center section because it does create a V and does match the frame.

However, what I think I would really like is a bike like this but in Raven black, with shadowy gold metal flake stripes that would match the forks' color tone.

When you guys are saying gloss, you aren't talking about completely raven in gloss, you mean the matte finish in the middle just glossed over right?

This is glossed over in the center of the raven.

This is just straight out raven on the whole thing.. (I think as I CANT see any lines from there being a matte finish in the middle that was just glossed over, looks to me just straight out raven)

I have no idea wtf to do here lmao.

I'm liking the all Raven the most but im afraid in person it will be too much black, and only looks good in the pic ya know?

The Matte raw finish to me, looks unfinished and I think it will leave marks when cleaned compared to a glossed finish.

Ugh!

Im ordering Monday so I have to figure this out!

The last picture in your first post, the head on shot, appears to be an all Raven screen. It looks very good.

Like you said, the all black bikes are tough because going to the grey inset doesn't match anything. (As far as I can tell.) Where on the red and blue bikes the black center section of the screen at least matches the frames so there is continuity.

I really don't know what to advise you but whatever you choose, take lots of pictures so I can determine whether you made the right choice or not. :)

I'm still leaning towards the all Raven gloss. Hard to have too much black.

Dave

Not going to lie, im 99% on the All Raven gloss now.

Been looking at pictures of my Gixxer, and the entire thing is gloss black and its freaking sweet looking. Dont see how it could look "bad" where as the grayish matte or gloss center COULD look not as good.
