Smoke out of new slip on exhaust

Hello everyone.

Just got a newt slip on exhaust (Yoshi Trc). I put it on, turned on the bike and left it running for about 10 minutes. 5 minutes after I turned it off, smoke was still coming out of the exhaust, it smells like over heated metal.
Could this be because it has oils inside the pipe and are being burned? Or maybe it just needs to be broken in?
What do you guys think?

Both the slipon pipes I have installed smelt bad for the first few weeks until they settled in.

It's also a good idea to nip up the bolts while it is hot to make sure it doesn't move while riding. The bolts will expand and loosen when they are hot. I got another 1/4 to 1/2 turn out of them once they were hot.

It is probably just the new packing getting cooked .. the smoke will vanish after a few rides ...
