I have dreamt of a Gen 1 for years. Last bike was a 95 VX800. It was cheap and I was poor. Gave up riding for a long while but I’m back! In April I bought an 04 w/ 22k in pristine condition but cyl 1 jets are clogged (poor idle). I’ve already put 2k on it but I’ve ordered the carb kits and will have to take a weekend soon to rebuild. It’s pretty strong now, can’t wait to see what it’s like after! PO had installed Ivan jets, Yoshi exhaust, chain oiler, smaller rear sprocket, gear indicator, Seargent seat and coolant temp gauge. I will be adding hard luggage, phone plug/holder, LEDs and maybe a taller screen. I’ve been lurking this forum for years waiting for my chance to be a “genuine” member. Im in upstate SC and love to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway area. Plan to take the Dragons tail after I take an advance riding course at the BMW performance center. Hope to see some of you out on the road!
