My 03 drive chain became loose and had the dealer retighten it and he gave me the news it needs new swing arm bearings cuz he can move it back n forth and side ways too. He admits there isn't a lot of play, but said it is the reason why your chain will become loose after a period of time. After 2 or 3k it has since needed to be retightened.
Anyways, the cost is pretty high since I was quoted 4 hours of labour. The Yamaha parts are about $175 plus tax.
My question is are OEM parts the way to go or to aftermarket?
And....is this a job for professionals? I saw some vids on what is entailed and it seems pretty straight forward.
