Humm...

Any ideas how I remove my shock top bolt?

The abs plumbing is in the way to get it out...

A 'step by step' would be most appreciated :)

Not having ABS, I do not know what is and is not there. On the non-abs bike, we only have to remove the side panel and the brake reservoir.

Finally got it out.

The collar on the head of the bolt needs filing off on one side to clear the abs pipes and then its tight, but just do-able.

Will fit the bolt the other way around so the nut is on the abs side when my new shock arrives, will be easy to do then.

Isn't there a flange on one side that locks the head in place so you only have to come in from one side anyway?

I believe that is the way on the Gen 1's (but not 100% sure because I do not have my bike to look at)

The GenI has the tab on the nut, my GenII didnt and the abs plumbing was in the way of removing the bolt.

Its a collared bolt and removing part of the collar does the trick and allows the bolt to slide out.
